Christopher pulled up to "Original Cuts" in his freshly washed, silver 2016 BMW 7 series. He exited the car wearing a Camouflage Bape hoodie, dark washed true religion jeans and Jordan 11 Retro Bred. His whole demeanor and style screamed money and luxury, which is why females all around him watched and observed with money hungry eyes. He opened the door to the shop causing the bell to jingle making heads turn his way.
"Aye Chris. Wassgood b?" One of the barbers in the shop dapped him up.
"Notin' luh bruh. Just tryna hustle out here, Na'mean?" He spoke in his heavy New York accent. The barber nodded his head in agreement before continuing to work on his customer's hair.
"Them kicks lookin right, Chris"
"What's good, son?"
"Man, lemme hold on a dollar."
The guys continued to greet Chris as he strolled through the shop with the same confidence in his walk that he carried everywhere he went. Chris was known around the neighborhood. His father was well respected in the streets, but not because he was some big drug dealer or pimp or anything. It was because he was known to be a crucial advocate of Black civil rights.
His father was always the one to hold protests and give speeches around the neighborhood. He was always the one to encourage young boys to terminate the "Gangster stereotype" and instead become successful, influential men. Chris grew up in wealth, but that never deterred his hustle or his hunger. Even though his father did buy him plenty of luxurious things, Chris also spent a huge part of his teen years working and making his own bread. His father was his biggest inspiration, which is why at a young age he was always off the streets and instead in class and at work grinding and hustling.
When he went through a stage where he hung out with the wrong crowd, his father's friend, Walter, helped him and got him involved with his barber shop, Original cuts. Sometimes his father was busy, especially since he was a busy businessman and was constantly getting involved in Black rights. Therefore, him and his father were grateful for Walter for getting him back on track.
Chris walked over towards Walter to greet him and see how he was doing. It was a daily thing for him to check up on him because he was like another father figure to him. However, Chris had been gone for the past couple days due to personal issues.
"Wasgood old man?" Chris teased, shaking Walter's hand. Walter wasn't old at all. He was only about 45 years old, but it was true, black did not crack, so he could pass for a 30 year old.
Walter chuckled. "How's everything youngin'? Haven't seen ya in a couple days."
"It's good. I give God the glory, man. And yeah I know, the kid was busy, my fault."
