"Your not going, Savannah!" Mason sighed.
I looked at him. "Watch me."
With that, I stood up, grabbed my bow, and looked at Scarlett. She grabbed her knife, and walked out the door with me, and down the hall. She followed me outside.
"Sav, where have you been?"
"Safe."
I led her for an hour into the woods. I finally sat down, and looked at her. "We're spending the night here. Hopefully Mason has the smarts to stay home with the kids."
He never came, thank God.

The next morning, I was still awake. Scarlett slept calmly, and I kept watch. I didn't hear anything during the night, but if anything was going to happen I had to be on guard, no matter what.
Nothing happened until Scarlett woke up. I heard singing.
"Whats that?" Scarlett yawned.
"Sirens."
