Where did they go?

Boom! Boom! The lighting flashes. There it goes again, I backed away from the door and grabbed my flashlight. Today had been really weird and I just wanted everything to be normal. I turned on my flashlight and ran to my parents room. When I got to the door I peeked through a crack and they were gone. The covers on the bed were all folded and nice. I turned to see the night light in the corner of their room was slowly blinking on and off. I backed away and ran to Lillian's room. I was kind of hoping she wasn't there because she had been acting suspicious. I opened her door and lifted up her covers, and she was gone. Bang! Bang! Lighting strikes near by and the thunder comes rumbling.
