"What are you doing here?"

My gaze traveled up at the sea of darkness above us as I answered. "Admiring the night."

I heard the smile on her face when she concurred.

"Beautiful night indeed."

When my eyes traveled back to her, the night wasn't the only beautiful thing I saw.

If there was a word greater than beautiful, then that was Aya.

She was wearing a white ivory gown that falls elegantly until the ground. This made me remember the first time I met her. I couldn't help but smile.

Aya looked at me questioningly.

"Why are you smiling?"

"Nothing... Why, can't I smile now?" I teased her.

She chuckled, a music in my ears.

"Of course you can. I'm just wondering why... You rarely do it."

"I do it more often ever since I met you." I confessed and suddenly felt embarrassed.

Her brows met. "Do I look funny?"

I laughed loudly at what she said, she was full of surprises.

Aya pouted at my action, I stopped hurriedly and cleared my throat.

"Sorry."

She nodded down. "So I look funny huh..."

A smile tugged on the corner of my lips.

"You never looked funny. You look entertaining..."

Aya's eyes looked at me through her lashes, accessing my words.

And I couldn't stop.

I should leave, but I found myself walking towards her - completely ignoring my whispering thirst.

"You look interesting..."

I should go to not feel her warmth but here I was, standing right in front of her with my hand finding its way to her reddening cheek. I caressed her soft skin - fighting my beast at the same time.

"You don't know how lovely you look right now."

"Thank you..." She said, then her eyes moved up to my hair. She smiled. "You're a brunette now."

"I am.... Do you like it?"

I didn't know why but her opinions mattered to me.

Her right hand moved and slightly tousled my hair. "It looks good on you...."

It seemed like she stopped herself from saying something.

"But?"

"But?" She frowned at me as her hand moved back on my shoulder.

"But?...."

Aya chuckled. "I prefer you blond. You look more handsome."

She finished looking all shy.

I laughed and nodded. "I'll have my hair dye back to blond tomorrow."

My eyes stared back at hers.

I should run away to stop being consumed by her gaze, but here I was swimming on her browns.

As we stared at each other - losing ourselves to each other's irises - to each other's presence, a slow song started to play from a distance. No doubt it was coming from the party happening at the floor below us.
