Chapter Twenty Six: Desire
Gazing out the motel’s window, I watch the snow fall. Last night I couldn’t sleep; James on the other hand snored in my ear throughout the whole night. I continue to watch the snow fall onto the ground. The sparkling snow seems like the perfect shade of white.
“Jane!” James hops off the bed frantically, still obviously half asleep.
“I’m right here.” He turns around quickly.
“You frightened me.” He exhales in relief.
“Sorry…” I turn to watch the snow again.
In a soundless movement James’s arms are around my waist. He stands behind me, watching the snow fall with me. I feel his warmth and finally become more relax-I feel safe.
“What is it that’s weighing you down?” He turns me around.
For the first time I see James freshly awake and surprisingly he’s still perfect. How does he do that?
“Haven’t slept.” I respond waltzing out of his arms and towards the refrigerator.
“Not even a blink?” He wonders.
“Nope, two months of sleeping sucks.” I awkwardly chuckle.
“They had you sleeping for two months!” James voice becomes drenched with anger.
“Yup.” I don’t want to add any more fuel to the fire that’s burning inside James. I grab the hotdogs from the small refrigerator and begin to warm it up in the microwave.
James continues to frown. He’s probably calling my parents horrible names inside his head. I wrap my arms around his neck. It’s okay.
“No it’s not Jane” He responds back mentally.
“I’ll be fine.” I reassure him.
“When? A month-or a year from now?” He places his hands on my hips.
“When you shut up and kiss me.” I smile.
“Don’t try to distract me.” I shake my head and place my lips against his. Thinking I would taste morning breath I’m surprised when I taste fresh breath. The room once again becomes hot and erotic as I make his hair a hot mess with only my fingers. Suddenly I’m against a wall retrained by his hands. Then he pulls away again.
“Is it me or does it always intensifies rapidly?” He lets his hands fall from my body leaving only a beautiful sensation.
“Nope, not you.” I say anxiously as I try to compose myself again.
“Let’s keep our hands to ourselves from now on, shall we?” He takes out the hotdog from the beeping microwave.
“Did I do something wrong?” I wonder as he keeps his eyes focus on everything else but me.
“No…the opposite, you did everything right.” He begins to blush.
“Okay note to self –hands to myself.” I chuckle feeling a bit satisfied that I could make James blush.
“We need to leave soon, I doubt that your family took the warning seriously.” He changes the subject as he becomes cool and sexy again.
“And head where?” I ask since we have nowhere to go.
“My home, right after we go shopping for clothing.” He smiles as if he’s excited.
“You like shopping?” That would be strange.
