Sir Cadogan staggered, fatigue heavy arms clenched to his spear. He smiled grimly, the dead beast's tail was pointing to stairs: stairs that led up.

"Look to the highest room in the tallest tower, for there you will find love."

He pulled out the prophecy parchment, mentally checking off the list of tasks as he read: climb mountain, fight harpies, traverse moat of molten lava, enter castle, fight dragon, find love. He re-read the prophecy one last time and then, with a look of determination, he set aside his spear, hefted his sword and made his way up the stairs.

At the top he made his way into the chamber; there was nothing there and despair knotted his guts. Another figure in dark armour stepped into the chamber, sword raised.

"State your intent, sir," said Cadogan, his own sword raised and ready for battle.

Blue eyes pierced his soul as the knight removed her helmet, and Cadogan knelt in awe, his sword clattering to stones.

He offered her the prophecy, mute with wonder. She knelt beside him and offered him an identical parchment. And so, two tasks were fulfilled, two lost souls put aside their weapons, and love was found.
