"Perrie?!" The girls called out.

I started to fast walk down the street.

"Perrie wait!" I heard.

I kept walking.

"Perrie!" I heard again. I felt someone grab my arm. I turned around.

Danielle had my arm.

"Perrie what's wrong tell us." Eleanor said.

"I can't." I said with a cracked voice.

"Why not?" Ness said.

"We're like sisters. You can tell us any-" Sky started.

I quickly cut her off. "I'm pregnant."

Tears were falling down my face.

They stood there for a minute.

"What?" Danielle finally said.

"I stopped using the pill after Zayn left for training...then he came back." I said taking a deep breath.

"Perrie..." Ness said.

"I'm so scared." I cried.

The girls quickly hugged me.

"We'll get through this." They whispered.

That night we all sat I'm the living room on the floor. I sat on a pillow with a blanket around me.

"I can't get over the fact that your pregnant." Sky said.

"I can't get over the fact that I have no way to tell Zayn." I said staring into space.

"We'll find a way...somehow." Eleanor said.

"It's no use." I said still out of it.

Everyone was quiet.

The whole afternoon I laid on the couch.

While the girls tried to find a way to get the message to Zayn. But it's no use.

The a few weeks later, i felt a little better that part in me kept telling me Zayn was alive. And for the first time ever I felt happy and excited to be pregnant.

I went to the store to pick up a few things for the house. I was looking at the candy section. I was craving twizzlers and Hershey bars. As I scoped out the sweets. I noticed a women, in her early 30s, looking at the magazines. We were the only two shopping. I grabbed my usual twizzlers pack and Hershey bar and put it in my hand basket. I walked up to the cashier.

"Hello." She smiled.

"Hi." I smiled.

"Will that be it?" She asked.

"Yes. That's all." I smiled.

She began to price my items and put them in the bags.

I suddenly heard the little bell on the front door ring. Signaling that someone walked in. I ignored it. I noticed the lady stopped bagging my items. I looked up at her. Her face went pale white. She looked scared. I turned to see who she was looking at.

A man with a newly pressed black military officer uniform walked in. He had a white envelope in his hand. He walked in. He looked at us 3 women in the store.

He walked in slowly. He passed me and the lady cashier. He went to the lady who was looking at the magazines.

"Ma'am, are you Stephanie marks?" He asked in a deep voice.

She nodded. "Yes." She said weakly. Her face was also pale white and scared.

He handed her an envelope.

"I'm sorry." He said.

She cried loudly.

"No he cant be!" she cried. she almost fell to the floor but the man caught her. She was crying loudly.

The man took her and slowly led her out of the store.

I could hear her cries outside.

"What was that?" I asked the lady.

"That lady... Just got news that one the men she was close to died." The lady said continuing to put my items in the bag.

"It's been happening a lot around here." She said with a cracked voice.

"I try not to get out much." I said.

"If you don't mind me asking. Do you have a loved one that got drafted?" She asked.

I looked down. "Yes. I do. My boyfriend. I'm..." I took a deep breath holding back my tears. "I'm actually pregnant." I said.

She looked at me. With a sympathetic look.

"I'm sorry." She said quietly.

I nodded.

"What about you?" I asked.

She nodded. "My brother and boyfriend." She said also holding back tears.

"Well my brother... Was in the military..." She said.

"Was?"

She nodded. "He's gone." She said letting a tear fall down her face.

"I'm sorry." I whispered.

She wiped her tears.

"It's okay. I heard the war is ending soon. We're close to a victory." She said.

"I hope so." I said quietly.

After the lady put my items in the bag, I left the store. I went straight home.

I didn't want to talk to anybody. I went straight to the room. I can't runaway from the fact that there's a war going on and people are dying. People who don't deserve to die.
