I cried as I read the letter. My father, my dad, knew that he was going to die. Jay wrapped his arm around me and pulled me to his chest. I cried, the most that I have cried in years. The door opened and Wade walked in.
“D-did you ca-catch the man w-who di-did this to m-my d-d-dad.” I asked trying my best not to stutter. Wade rubs the back of his neck and then looks at me.
“Um, no we haven’t and we can’t the criminal we are after is a highly ranked in the most wanted lists in.”
“Who is he?” I asked wanting to know who killed my father.
“ Seth Adams.” He replied looking at me. I gave him a ‘and who is that look’ he opened one of the draws and pulled out a photo he handed it to me and I looked at it. He had short brown hair, blue eyes and a rounder faced head. I looked at the image and turned away. I handed Wade back the photo and he put it back in the draw.
“Oh and also here is the will that your father left. You can read it when you leave.” He said gave me an A4 size folder that had John Andrew Brown on the front. I reached over and grabbed the file.
“Well, I think it might be time to leave.” I said looking over at Jay. He nodded his head in agreement.
“Thank-you Sergeant Moore. Till next time.” I said giving him a slight nod. He nodded back and walked us to the door of his office.
“Goodbye Abigail, goodbye…” He said trailing off.
“Jay, Jay Tomas.” Jay said, shaking hands with Wade. We walked out the door and back out side. Jay and I made our way back to the car and got in. Then I broke down, I couldn’t take it any more. Jay hopped out of the car in lightning speed and was by my side. I slowly moved away from him as he tried to reach closer. He gave me a questioned look but backed away. I grabbed my pillow pet that was next to me and hugged it so tight.
“Bi, it’s ok.” Jay said trying to calm down. That only made me cry harder. My dad died and 6”my mum is hospital trying to treat her cancer. Nothing is ever going to be fine. Jay tried to hug me again but I just kept on movie away. He ran a hand through his hair and walked back over to the drivers seat. While he walked around I put my seat belt on and moved over to the window side as much as possible. I put my legs up on the seat and rapped my arms around my pillow pet and my legs and cried. Jay started driving away and I was on my way back home. After hours of endless tears, Jays calming words and many of hours driving later, we come to a stop. I looked out the window to see that it was dark and the moon was nearly in the middle of the sky.
“Bibi what do you want to eat?” Jay asked me in a soft voice. I remained silent like the rest of the trip has been. Jay yelled in frustration and got out of the car. I hugged my lamb closer as Jay opened the door.
“Abigail you have I will not let you just waste away. I can’t do that. So I am going to ask you again. What do you want to eat?” He asked in a tense voice. I replied with silence.
“Bi look at me.” He commanded. I couldn’t do it. I kept my head buried in my lamb and didn’t move. The door slammed closed and I jumped, I looked up to see that we had pulled into a 24-hour gas station. I could just see Jay walking around trying to find something to eat. He soon walked over to the counter and purchased the items. He started to walk back to the car and I put my head back on my pillow pet to try and look like I didn’t move.
“Bi I got you cheese rings.” He said shaking the packet. He knows I love them so much, he thinks I will cave. I am not going to cave. I didn’t answer or move, making Jay start to get frustrated.
