(Piper)

I still couldn't believe that I had healed in the matter of hour's. Something still didn't seem right with what Brylee and the doctor had said. If a dog had of bit me, I'd still be hurting. Unless, he was talking about another kind of dog.

"Are you hungry?" mom asked me as I walked down stairs. "Not really. I really just want to get to school," I told her. "I'm not gonna tell you how to live your life but I don't think that he's good for you," mom said. "It wasn't his fault that we got in a crash. You just think that he'll in up like Dominic. He won't," I said. "How do you know?" she asked. "I just do."

...

After I got to school, the first place I went was to the library. I found any book that they had about werewolves and checked them out. Brylee might have not been lying to me but he wasn't telling me the whole truth either.

"Hey," a familiar voice said. I looked up to see Cyrus. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "I always come here in the morning to think," he said. "So...what's been going on with you and Kate?" I asked him. "We're just friends, nothing more, nothing less."

"Werewolves?" Cyrus said sounding disgusted as he picked up one of my books. "You don't like werewolves?" I asked him. "I'm more of vampire guy myself," he said glancing behind of me.

"I think I should go," he said standing up to leave. "Stay," I said spotting Brylee coming over. "Do you really want me to?" Cyrus asked. "Of course. Why not?" I asked him.

"What's up, Cyrus," Brylee said sitting beside of me. Cyrus didn't answer. "Hey," I told Brylee as he kissed me. "Werewolves. I like werewolves too," Brylee said noticing my books. "I bet you do," Cyrus said. "Let me f

guess. You like those nasty vampires don't you?" Brylee asked him.

"Who wouldn't. Werewolves are big stupid animals only capable of causing fear and death," Cyrus snapped. "Vampires are no better. They try to blend in with humans so that they can get one off to themselves so that they can drink their blood. If you ask me, that's just fucking disgusting," Brylee said.

"Werewolves try to blend in too. Why do you think they use their human forms. They might not drink blood but they do turn humans into the monsters that they are so that they'll feel better about themselves," Cyrus added.

"Which one do you like better?" Brylee suddenly asked me. "Vampires are cold and dead. Werewolves are scary monsters. I really don't like either of them," I said, somehow making Brylee laugh. "What's so funny?" I asked him. "I was just thinking about something," he said.

"Didn't you have something that you wanted to tell her?" Cyrus asked Brylee. "What are you talking about, Cyrus?" Brylee asked. "I just remember you saying something about finally telling Piper the truth," Cyrus said.

"What is he talking about?" I asked Brylee. "I don't know. What are you talking about?" Brylee asked him. "Don't tell me that you forgot. Do I need to jog your memory?" Cyrus asked him. "Yeah, help me remember. I'm lost," Brylee said.

"Yesterday, I saw you holding hands with that pretty girl. What was her name? Ashlyn, that's her name," Cyrus said causing my blood to boil. "Who is Ashlyn?!" I snapped at Brylee. "I can explain but it's gonna take a little time!" Brylee said. "So explain it to me!" I yelled. "I'll see you two later," Cyrus said walking away.

"I'm waiting," I snapped. "Ashlyn is just a girl that I used to hang out with. We didn't even date. She moved down here temporarily. I haven't told her about you yet and she still has feelings for me," Brylee explained. "You expect me to believe that?!" I asked. "Yes, because it's the truth!" be said. "What ever. I don't want to see you right now," I told him. "But that's the truth. Cyrus just told you that because he's jealous. He wants you to reject me for him!" Brylee yelled. "Right now I want to," I said and walked away.

...

After I got to third period, I told Kate all about Brylee and that Ashlyn, whoever she was. I couldn't believe that Brylee was even capable of doing something like that. Maybe I over reacted. Maybe I should have really listened to everything he had to say.

"Maybe he was telling the truth," Kate said. "Why was Cyrus so concerned anyway?" I asked. "I don't know. Maybe because he likes you," Kate said. "Brylee thinks that I'm gonna break up with him," I said. "So talk to him and tell him that you didn't mean it," she told me. "He's not gonna believe me," I said. "You have to fix it," Kate told me as the bell rang.

...

After we got to lunch, I still really didn't want to talk to Brylee and even if I did, he wasn't anywhere in the cafeteria, neither was Hagan.

"I'm gonna go look for him," I told Kate as Cyrus started to walk over to us. "I'll be here when you get back," Kate said.

"Where are you going?" Cyrus asked. "To look for Brylee," I said walking by him.
