I only ever needed a higher force to tell me
What I could offer this dirty little dream
How I could show my soul to the grimey groundwater gods
And receive approval
But now my trail has gone north pole cold
The streetlights flickered like the edge of winter
As like all things, the dream grew old
Festering with fright and mold
And you, my love, went dark on me
And soulless deer arranged my removal

A forest fire exposed my hue to all
As you arranged my funeral
No autopsies for aliens
No epitaphs for invaders
Because you don't indulge in traitors
You put them in their cosmic place
You deal with them up out in space
My biography engraved into your spaceship
You took off, with my matter on your machine
With my wicked name on the tip of your lips
You made me your criminal, wrote me off as unthinkable
Buried my name in dying grass
And kept my trees and my story
So I could be your blame, at last

You know in your polluted heart
Why we created Earth together
You knew what it was all about
You hated me and yourself, too
And I was just your ticket out
So I just hope that you also know
That I'm a wide and heavy load
Try not to loose your mind too hard
When your spaceship creaks
And explodes.
