The vampires in this story have existed for centuries and are as implied, hidden from all human understanding. Which means that they're basically living among the unknowingly citizens.

They are not outrageously pale, but they are sensitive to the warmth and light from the sun. Also, they are in possession of ultra sensitive hearing, supernatural strength and the capability to move faster than any other creature.

As most vampires, they're immortal, which means that any harm done to them will be healed automatically, unless they're harmed by fire long enough for death to arise. Or the usual stake through the heart will also cause an effective and very unpleasant death.

If they have any specific abilities, they are either psychically or mentally. And always will be unique.

On their eighteenth birthday, the vampires undergo a change in their body and mind: Skin cold like the ice lurking in the winter, a last  imitation of a heartbeat when it stills. Their bodies crave the blood that no longer pumps their own veins. No moment will be more crucial than this, it will show whether they are strong enough to resist the temptation of giving into their thirst or if they will fall into a circle of no control. They will also no longer require the need to sleep.

If they choose the path of a true vampire, they will lose themselves in the power of the beast inside and it will likely cause them to shut off their humanity.

These vampires can nourish on both normal food and blood, but their bodies and powers are always stronger when they consume themselves on human blood.

Finally, their eyes remain the same as their human form, but will seem greater and more appealing to the human eye. When the different endowments are used, a golden circle will appear around their pupils, though, this will only be visible for their victims as to shield them from discovery.
