Hyungwon didn't know what to think about the previous, unexpected eye contact he had made with the boy across the street. He knew it was probably nothing but he could feel his cheeks slightly heat up.
He tried to shake the thought as he was tying his shoe laces and again when he was halfway to school but for some reason unknown to him, the silver haired boy was stuck in Hyungwon's head.

Just as he was about to walk through the school gates he took a deep breath and told himself to stop being such a weirdo and forget what happened this morning, because, let's be honest, nothing really happened. It's normal to make eye contact with your neighbours every now and then, right? Hyungwon was probably just making a big deal out of nothing. Yeah, it was really nothing.

He walked across the school's playground and met up with his best friend who was playing games on his phone, standing with his back leaning against the staircase. They casually greeted each other and Hyungwon tried to act as if everything was normal but apparently he wasn't doing a very good job.
'What's with that face?' Hyunwoo suddenly asked and Hyungwon was taken aback but tried to wave it off.
'What face? This is just my face' Hyungwon tried but he knew he wouldn't be able to fool his best friend so easily and he could see that Hyunwoo wasn't convinced.
'I seriously doubt that' Hyunwoo said with a smirk on his face.
'Whatever, let's just go to class' Hyungwon tried his best to avoid talking about the boy across the street and ended their conversation there. Totally forgetting about the fact that said boy was actually in the same class as the one the two boys were about to walk into, they made their way through the school halls for their first class of the day.

Walking into the classroom Hyungwon was suddenly reminded of his earlier embarrassment by the familiar splotch of silver at the back of the classroom.
Hoseok was being his bubbly self and was doing a much better job at acting like nothing happened than Hyungwon was. As the latter hastily made his way to his seat, Hoseok just stole a quick glance at the awkward brunette and continued his conversation with one of his best friends, an obnoxiously loud -but still cute- blonde boy named Minhyuk.

Hyunwoo was smiling when he sat down next to Hyungwon but the latter didn't even notice as he was too busy trying to cool down his face with his icy hands. He was wondering why he suddenly felt so hot in the first place.

Their first period went by as usual and Hyungwon had finally managed to push back the thought of a certain boy across the street and act as usual. Acting as usual meant doodling in his notebook and picking the wallpaper off the wall next to him. He tried paying attention to what the teacher was saying but let's be honest, history of literature might be the most boring class ever invented and Hyungwon just couldn't stay focused.

At the back row of the class Hoseok was focused. But well... just not on the lesson. He was still stealing glances at Hyungwon whenever the other wasn't looking. It was easiest to look at him when Hyungwon had completely given up his efforts to listen to the teacher and was sitting sideways on his chair with his head leaning against the wall and his eyes closed. And what a beautiful view it was for Hoseok who, by the second, got more and more mesmerised by the tall brunette.
Hoseok had never been the type to really notice things about other people but with Hyungwon it was somehow different. Hoseok liked looking at Hyungwon, he found him mysterious and fascinating and Hoseok liked a good mystery, things that other people didn't understand, he would find engaging.
And that's really what Hyungwon was. A mystery. No one really knew a lot about him except for Hyunwoo but then again, no one really knew anything about Hyunwoo either. The two were always just sorta... there. Nobody really bothered them and they didn't bother anyone.

During PE Hyungwon's class was going to play volleyball but since Hyungwon wasn't really the sportsy type, he preferred just watching the rest of the guys from the sidelines. Teachers never really tried to get him to join because they knew he would just come up with some excuse for why he couldn't participate. His location in the gym gave him the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of the silver haired boy. Tho unsure of his actions, Hyungwon couldn't help but look over to Hoseok as he looked really good in those gym shorts.
Hyungwon shook his head in confusion and mentally slapped himself for even having such a thought.
Even though he was sure that he wasn't into girls, he had a difficult time figuring out if that automatically meant that he was into guys. Maybe it wasn't that he was into guys, maybe he just wasn't interested in relationships. After all, Hyungwon had never been in one before, heck, he definitely hadn't been in love before. But something in his chest felt different when he looked at Hoseok. He wasn't quite sure what it was and to be completely honest, it made him feel sick. So much that he decided to keep his eyes off Hoseok for a while and focused on sketching in his notebook instead. Unaware of what his pencil was doing, he soon realised that he was in fact starting to draw sketches of the silver haired boy and immediately closed his notebook. What if anyone saw?
He then decided to just close his eyes and lay down on the bench he was sitting on, resting his head on Hyunwoo's lap who had been next to him the entire time but was too busy staring at a certain blonde to notice any of Hyungwon's previous actions.

On the other side of the gym, Hoseok was trying to show off his best volleyball skills and was trying to make it as obvious as possible whenever he did something cool, earning annoyed looks and groans from the others because of how loud he was. In all his efforts to draw attention to himself, he always failed to make the tall brunette look at him. Or at least, he never actually saw him looking his way. Hoseok just saw the notebook in Hyungwon's hands and wondered what he was drawing or writing in it.
At some point when he looked over in Hyungwon's direction, he could see how he was  resting on Hyunwoo's lap. And at the same time a feeling of adoration, as well as jealousy was starting to bubble in Hoseok's gut. He didn't exactly know why tho. The adoration, sure, Hyungwon looked cute laying there but Hoseok had no reason good enough to be jealous. After all, Hyunwoo was Hyungwon's best friend and Hoseok and Hyungwon had no specific relationship other than living across the street from each other and being classmates who never talk. But still Hoseok couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be in Hyunwoo's place. To be able to look down at Hyungwon's beautiful features from up close.
But that was all just a daydream to Hoseok.
For now...
