Giggle Water and Green Hair

I sighed, sloshing down the three hundredth giggle water I had served that evening. I don't even understand why people like this stuff - it's foul. I crinkled my nose in mild disgust as a small, evil looking goblin eyed me moodily before snatching the drink off of the bar and tossing the change at me.

Gosh, he does need a giggle water I thought to myself as I collected the scattered cash from the bar.

"Rough day?" I heard a pretty feminine voice ring out above the hustle and bustle of the crowded club. I turned to see the owner of the voice and was met with a gorgeous lady of around 26 stood by the worn bar stools. She had a stunning complexion - hair the colour of chocolate cascaded softly around her shoulders, framing her face. Her caramel toned skin highlighted her friendly and warm eyes bringing me to the conclusion that I could trust her. I nodded meekly at her question, I couldn't help but be shy.

"It's alright, I'm taking over now - you can go." she smiled warmly as she walked around the bar to stand beside me, indicating for me to move out of the way.

Evidently she worked here, I looked her up and down - taking note of how well the uniform fit her. These uniforms weren't easy to make work - and I would know, I spent thirty minutes deciding on how best I could make my body fit the damned thing.

"Oh, okay, thank you!" I sighed, finally my god-awful shift was over. "I'm new here by the way, Victoria Nott - nice to meet you!" I smiled as best I could considering my current state of mind. I extended my hand but before I knew it I was enveloped in a hug and a giggle from the somewhat taller girl rang in my ears.

"Martha - pleased to make your acquaintance Victoria." Martha chimed as she pulled away. I opened my mouth to compliment her but I was harshly interrupted by the ringing of the bar bell, signalling another customer wanted serving. I made eye contact with Martha, smiled knowingly and disapperated - she wouldn't want me hanging around clogging up the bar.

The cold air hit me with its vile daggers, forcing me to pull my relatively thin uniform closer to my body. The small alley I apperated to had been glamoured so I could use it for times such as this - I would have to thank Mr Graves again for that later. This alley wasn't much. A few dustbins, or trashcans as they call them here, were littered clumsily in doorways that lead to abandoned and decrepit flats. Well abandoned aside from me.

"Tori?" a quiet voice called out cautiously. I whipped around smiling happily.

"Credence! Sweetheart! I missed you so much!" I ran to him and swamped him in a warm embrace. I buried my face in his ebony hair, clutching him to me. After a few minutes of somewhat awkward hugging I pulled back and smiled. "I bought you a snack from work!" I couldn't help but stifle a laugh at how his face lit up at this. I pulled my wand out and muttered "Accio bench" and a small wooden bench from the other end of the alley jerked towards us. Credence stood still - unsure of how to deal with this, I sighed and pulled him down as I sat on the bench.

Gently I pulled a chocolate frog from my pocket and let it hop onto Credence's lap, he gasped and giggled as it leaped up his shirt. I could tell he hadn't eaten today as he quickly consumed the thing and blushed like it was something to be ashamed of. I grinned reassuringly.

"Hey Tori, can you change?" he mumbled.

"Of course! I forgot to before." I giggled, "what hair colour today?"

"Green!" he clapped his hands together like a small child, eagerly looking at me. I focused on one of my many other bodies - my 'Creedy form' as I liked to call it. I felt myself shrink, my body becoming a little smaller. I felt myself filling out - becoming a little chubby. My features changed from the harsher ones I used at the bar to a soft and approachable aesthetic.  I felt hair brushing the nape of my neck, it grew a lot longer from the short, sleek bob I wore to work. I opened my eyes and giggled as I saw seaweed green, curly locks fall into my face.

"What do you think? Is green my colour?" I inquired, spinning around and modelling the hairstyle jokingly - pouting and blowing him a kiss - so I could give him a clear view of my new hair colour.

"Any colour suits you Tori! You're a metamorphmagi after all - of course it looks great!" he clapped his hands again admiring my new look. I pushed my glasses up the bridge of my now small, cute button nose and giggled. "If it weren't for you wearing those glasses I don't know how I would recognise you."

"Good job I wear them a lot then, huh?" he nodded at this.

I examined him carefully whilst he talked about his day. I could see bruises angrily peaking over his high collar, his hands were red raw again too. I could see from the lump in his top pocket that he hadn't handed out all of his leaflets today - she wouldn't be happy about that.

I swished my wand gently and Credence stopped talking, amazed as he watched a third of the flyers lift themselves out of his pocket and delicately fold themselves into paper birds before fluttering around his head for a few minutes before floating off into one of the dustbins in a forgotten doorway. "You best get going, don't be late home ok?" I leaned over and kissed his cheek and he muttered a good bye before scurrying away down the street.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my head, throbbing and piercing my mind. I let out a cry as I lost my vision and was shrouded in darkness.

I could see Credence, alone. sobbing. I tried to reach out to him but he was ripped away from me violently, spiralling into a plume of dust that pulsated and expanded - growling at me like an animal cornered. I shrieked as I felt another pain in my head.

I saw the street again but I was on the floor, paralysed. Fighting a loosing battle I reached out for help but the beast I was fighting shoved me into unconsciousness.
