Mary was going through her typical day at work, but she couldn't help but wonder what her little house guest was doing. She checked her phone to see if she had any messages. Nothing. She quietly thought to herself, "Should I?" Mary scrolled through contacts and found a name listing with just the letter "J". Joker had put it in her phone before he gave it back to her this morning.
Joker was sitting on the lumpy couch reading through on of Mary's research journals for one of her classes. He was actually surprised by her ability to solve multivariable calculus variables. His phone then buzzed with a text from his contact listed as Sweetness, "Are you still alive?" He was slightly amused. "Bored, but I went through your library and found your calculus journal."
"Really..? Is that the best thing you could find?"
" I thought it was your journal."
"Nosey."
Joker was actually enjoying her lack of fear of him. He didn't see her as his normal play thing, he actually respected her. Joker then heard a familiar voice in his mind. It started with a loud cackle. "Oh Jackie boy.. You respect her? How long is this little lie of yours gonna last? Let's just drill her when she gets here and go home." Joker rolled his head to snap out of the conversation. "Not today.. Not her..", he thought.
Mary was trying to keep her mind on her work, but was interrupted by her coworker Tessa, "Spending Christmas alone again Mary?" Mary lifted her head and gave Tessa a fake smile and went back to her task. Tess couldn't resist to torment her, "Yeah, my boyfriends dad is flying the whole family to Cacun. He has a beach house there, it's my second time going."

Mary kept her eyes on her paper work, "That's nice.."
Tessa irritation was rising . She loved rubbing her happiness in Mary's face. Tessa's eyebrows perked up when she saw a deliver man entering the lobby with a dozed red roses. "Hi there! Can I help you?"
"I have a delivery for Mary Parker.."
