Joker awoke the next morning to the smell of bacon and coffee. He groaned as he slowly rolled out of bed. After searching his pocket he noticed a text from Johnny Frost, "lay low." Joker knew Mary wasn't going to like the idea of him staying longer, but "She'll have to get over it." he thought to himself. Joker slowly opened the cracked bedroom door. He peaked his head into the living area and saw Mary dressed in a plain but flattering blue dress.  Her figure was long and lean with perfect curves. Oh, and her legs, Joker caught himself licking his lips at the thought of his head being buried between them.  He snapped out of his perverse day dream when he heard Mary gasped when she noticed him.

" You scared the crap outa me." Joker didn't reply. "Are you hungry? I made plenty."

Joker slowly made his way to the table and sat and cleared his throat, " Your already dressed, where are you going?"

Mary took a seat across from him, "  I have to go to work."

Before taking a big bite of his breakfast, "And where is that?"

Mary didn't want to awnser but she knew he could smell bullshit a mile away, "I.. Uh.. I work at a bank." There was an akward silence, Mary noticed he was just sitting staring  at her. " Do you not like your breakfast?"

Joker finally cleared the air, "Listen sweetness, I'm going to have to stay a little longer. It's not safe yet for me to leave."

Mary slowly stopped sipping her coffe, "Why? We agreed.."

Joker loudly interrupted her protest, "You don't have a choice doll. Besides, you'll be compensated for your trouble." He whipped out a large roll of large bills from his pocket and threw them on the table.

Mary stared  at the wad of cash for a moment then pushed herself  away from the table. " I have to get to work."

Joker caught her wrist as she grabbed her jacket, " I don't think so.."

" I have to go to work or I will get fired. Besides if I don't show up or answer my phone when they call, they will come look for me. It's the banks security procedure, in case we are held for ransom. So, unless you want the police to show up, I suggest you let me go." Mary waited for him to call her bluff.

Joker released his grip," Here's your phone."

Mary reached into her coat pocket, "Here's my card with my extension.."

Joker studied the Bank of Gotham business card. He still had an uncertain expression on his pretty face.

" I'm not going to rat you out.. Lock the door behind me and don't awnser it until I get home."

" And when is that?"

" I get off at five, but the bus ride takes twenty to thirty minutes. Make yourself comfortable and I will be back as soon as I can." Mary started towards the door.

She stopped  and turned to him when she heard his voice, "What, no kiss good bye?"

"Sigh.. Have a good day dear..", Mary then left locking the door behind her.

Joker walked to the window to watch her walk down the street. He saw a group of men cat call her, but Mary ignored them and disappeared out of his line of sight. " Fucking assholes." He didnt know why, but it tugged at his gut when he thought about someone harassing Mary. He was realizing she was not made for the cruleness of Gotham. He looked back at the table to see the large bills he had offered her were still laying on the table. Most anybody in this hell hole city would have grabbed them up immediately or asked for more. " Whats your catch little girl?" he thought. Joker was very intrigued.
