A pounding on my door startled me out of my trance. They couldn't have found me so quickly.

"Azar," a young woman's taunting voice filled the room, "we all know you're in there."

I stood there frozen. There was no way they had found me so soon. I had at least another week.

"Oh, Az," the door crashed against the ground, torn from its hinges by a blast of ice, "You always were so bad at hide and seek."

I jumped back all the way against the wall. My heart was beating hard.

"G-go away!"

My sister stepped over the splintered wood. The scene would have seemed far more threatening had she not been wearing her usual loose hoodie, unbrushed platinum hair pulled in a ponytail behind her. Nonetheless, she grinned menacingly.

"Oh, but I can't. Mother said so."

She kept walking until she stood within arm's reach, then raised a pale hand slowly, her palm towards me.

"I don't want to go." I said trying to phase through the wall. Unlucky for me that wasn't one of my skills.

"Then, I suppose," ice began to form in her hand, "I shall have to dispatch of you as mother told me to."

There was a little sadness in her voice, though it was well masked. I felt tears swell in my eyes as I clenched them tight.

"Don't have to be so mean, Krystal!" a familiar cheerful voice shone. Krystal spun sharply towards the voice, though I knew she recognized it.

"Now then," she seemed defeated, "you know full well that I have to be just as mean as my mother commands."

"Your mother is shit." Cloud spat at her. "Now, I've come for my friend."

I looked back and forth between them still to frightened to move. Cloud helping me, I hope. Krystal lowered her hand and looked away, as though calculating her next move. "Well, I suppose I should kill you both now," she gave the deepest sigh that I had ever heard, "but I'd rather not. Please, just leave. I'll tell mother that you had already gone when I got here. I don't want to fight either of you."

Krystal was known to care for only four people in the world: mother, me, our brother Jack, and (though she would rarely admit it) Cloud. Perhaps she wouldn't have really killed me before but now I was safe for certain. Cloud grabbed my shoulder roughly and pulled me towards him.

"See you soon, love," was all he said before dragging me out.

I heard Krystal pull her phone from her pocket; she'd have to report this. It wouldn't be without punishment. It never was. I dragged my feet as I walked with Cloud and stared at the ground.

"How are you, Azar?" Cloud asked. I shrugged. How well can someone be at the start of a war?

"I understand. We'll be there soon, mate." He clamped his hand onto my shoulder. Where exactly is there?

This is the new book! Yay. Me and my friend have been working on it for a while.

My friend, who I am co-writing with. She's an amazing writer and she's bloody awesome. She may be on my account occasionally. It depends on how bored she is. I hope I don't piss her off. She does have the power to single handedly destroy my life. Haha. Im sure I'm fine! Anyway this is her Lil_Lithium. YAY!

Well, we still need a cover photo, but we've been anxious to get this up so. TA DAAAAA!

I hope you enjoy!
