"Hey Gabby!" I turned around surprised to see Andrew Penning.

"Hi." I said stopping, to give him a chance to catch up to me as he made his way through the crowded hallway.

"So..How's your hand.?" He said motioning toward the very bruised knuckles on my right hand.

"Oh it's fine. How's your girlfriends face?"

"Uh, a lot worse looking then your hand." he said with what might have been a nervous chuckle.

"Should you be talking to me?" I said as we began getting closer to our destination, the cafeteria.

"What do you mean?"

"Uh for one your girlfriend hates me-"

"She doesn't hate you"

I glanced at him from the side, giving him a "Seriously?" look.

"Okay she hates you. Which I will never understand, your like awesome. I'm really sorry about the way she acted. I've never seen her like that before. She's a really sweet person when you get to know her."

"Hmm." There were many words that could be used to describe Cassidy, but Sweet wasn't one of them. I had the feeling Andrew didn't really know the girl he was dating.

"Well there's also the whole, I punched your girlfriend so hard she fell unconscious and hasn't been at school since thing. I mean you ARE her boyfriend, if you didn't dislike me before, you definitely should now."

"It wasn't your fault though. It was clearly self-defense. Besides, I like you. I can befriends with whoever I  want." He said opening the cafeteria door for me.

"You know, people will talk. As far as Cassidy's Twitter followers know I'm the other women, who viscously attacked her when she discovered our torrid affair."

"Torrid? Really? And I don't care what her twitter followers think. You and I know the truth. And so do my 597 twitter followers."

"Okay." I said, deciding to resign to my fate of being friends with the quarter back.

We walked side by side as we made our way to the cool kids table .

As I talked to Andrew and all of his friends, well our friends at lunch I couldn't help but feel as if there were something missing.

Casper.

"Hey, where are you?" I  texted Casper. Looking around the cafeteria, searching for that perfect head of shaggy black hair.

"Home."

"Why? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine Gabrielle."

I couldn't help but get this strange sense of de-javu as I texted him back.

"Are you mad at me....?"

I'd been almost a week since the almost getting run over by a car then knocking out the prom queen thing. I hadn't even able to tell Casper about it. I hadn't even seen him in 1st period all week.

"No. I'm sorry I just don't feel like talking to anyone right now Gabe, I heard about you knocking out the prom queen though. Congratulations. We'll have to have a celebration pizza sometime soon. But not now. I don't feel like really being around people these days."

"But I'm not a people, I'm a potato :3"

"Talk to you soon Potato."

With that I didn't dare send another text. He had made his decision and there was nothing else I could do but wait for him to contact me "soon".
