I was swinging on the swings while Chris and the rest of the guys were talking about how messed up school was. They didnt know I wished I was still going to school with them.

"So how do you like it?" my friend Cassie asked me

"Its alright. I met a lot of cool girls and Im adapting pretty well."

"I wish you could come back with us."

"I know....but my mom said if there ever was an emergency shes only five minutes away and they are offering me good honors courses."

"So lucky. I was thinking of transferring....WHO IS THAT?!" she said getting loud and she pointed to a guy sitting under the tree. He was looking through a book and writing on a notepad.

"I dont know. Never saw him when I was going to Heritage. He must be a new transfer." I said

"Oh my gosh he is hot...in a geeky way." she said. We both laughed. I got up and started towards him. "Wait Lola what are you doing?" she called after me.

"Im going to talk to him. He looks lonely." I said heading further to the tree. I finally approached him and he looked up from his book. Hot damn he was fine. Behind his glasses were hazel brown eyes that any girl would die for and hair that I would love to run my fingers through....

"Hey. Im Alcyone."

He closed his book and smiled. Jesus I was going to faint. That smile.

"Hi. Im Michael. Nice to meet you." he said holding out his hand. I shook it and he gestured me to sit down. "So are you new?" I asked.

"Yes. I just transferred from Indiana. Are you new? I havent seen you around." he asked.

"No. I live out here but I dont go to the local high school. I go to an all girls school in Chicago." I said looking down

"Oh I see. Im sorry....Im not really good with making friends. Im kind of shy so I usually stay to my books."

I laughed. "Im similar to you in a way. I stick to the books but Im kind of outgoing. I dont like to see anyone left out." I said smiling. He smiled and took a long stare at me.

"Forgive me if I say this but you are beautiful."he said smiling wide. I smiled and thanked him for his compliment. Chris caught my eye and he looked upset. He walked over and stood in front of me.

"Who is this?" he asked angrily.

"Oh Chris this is Michael. He's a new student."

Michael looked at Chris then looked down. Chris scoffed and looked back at me. "Alcyone get up." he said

"Why Im talking to Michael."

"I said get up."

I sighed and he looked at me again. "OK damn Im getting up. Go back to the boys you dont have to watch my every move." I said irritated. He stormed off and I looked at Michael. "Im so sorry about that. I dont know what his deal is. Here." I said grabbing a sheet of his paper. "Heres my number. Text me kay?" I said smiling. I got up and he grabbed my hand. "I will definitely text you." he said smiling. My heart was racing and I didnt want to leave. He let go and I waved goodbye.

I wonder why Chris was so angry.
