Mitzi

SIX YEARS LATER

Napabalikwas si Mitzi ng bangon at niyakap ang sarili. Marahas niyang hinaplos ang mga braso na para bang sa pamamagitan niyo'y mababawasan ang lamig na nararamdaman.

She glanced at the alarm clock beside her. It's three o'clock. Halos gabi-gabi nalang siya gumigising ng oras na iyon.

With the same nightmare!

Hinilamos niya gamit ng mga palad ang mukha at kinusot ang mga mata. There's no way she could sleep again. Napagdesisyunan niyang bumangon at tinungo ang shower.

"Good morning, Madame," bungad sa kanya ng secretary. It was amazing. At twenty-five, she had been one of the big bosses. Although the company was still manned by her father, she was recognized, not because of her name but by her knowledge, her skill, and her efficiency.

 

She graduated suma cum laude and the valedictorian of her batch. Oh, Stella. You lost. Just accept it, freak.

"A meeting with Ms. Mahistrado will be in fifteen minutes," paalala sa kanya nito. Ibinaba niya ang bag sa leather swivel chair at iginiya ang paningin sa glass panel na nagmula sa sahig hanggang sa kisame.

My company. My soon to be company.

Nagbeep ang cellphone niya. Kinuha niya ito at nangunot ang noo pagkabasa ng mensahe.

Sorry, Mitz. I'll postpone the meeting next time. Drew needs me.
