Things at school aren't much better than at home. I’m one of the three ‘loners’ in our grade, but I’m the one people are more likely to mess with. Especially if it's Sophia. She’s probably the most popular girl at Lincoln Academy. She and her friend, Rose, and their seemingly endless trail of followers just love to torture the hell out of people. And Sophia’s boyfriend, Jared, is a total asshole. He and his friends get a kick out of causing pain for others, too.
I’m usually pretty quiet. The combination of social anxiety and pure awkwardness keeps it that way. I’m not really sure what made them all hate me. Maybe it’s just that fact that I showed up randomly for the last year of school. We moved for Arabella. She wanted to move to New York City, so here we are, tucked away in a small house on the edge of the city. Everyone already knew each other and had formed their little groups, so no one wanted to take on the quiet little new girl, I guess.
