Chapter 7

Lydia's POV

"I'm exhausted," Pascalle sighs as she lets herself fall backwards onto my bed, making me chuckle.

"Welcome to the life of a mom," I say as I sit down on my bed. Macy was up all night, which resulted in us not getting much sleep.

"Well it sucks."

"It's all worth it, believe me," I say, smiling as I think about Macy.

"It better be," Pascalle chuckles as she sits up.

"It really it, there's nothing like being a mother and seeing my baby girl happy."

"I bet so. But tell me, what happened with Daniel last night, other than the kiss"

"Oh, you know, the usual."

"Lydia....," Pascalle says as she sits up.

"Okay fine! We had a great time together."

"Do you like him?"

"Yeah, I do," I say as I blush slightly, making Pascalle smile.

"Do you think he likes you as well?"

"I hope so. But I don't know how he feels about the fact that I had to leave last night."

"Again, I'm sorry about that."

"No, don't be sorry. Macy needed me and you called. You did the right thing, trust me."

"Still, I'd feel horrible if I screwed up this thing between you and Daniel."

"Don't worry about it, we'll work it out. If we're meant to be, we'll work it out together. If we're not, then things would've gone south sooner or later anyway."

"Hmm, you're probably right," Pascalle says, just as my phone rings. I look at the caller ID and smile. Daniel.

"Well, for now we're still meant to be," I joke as I show Pascalle my phone, making her smile.

"Come on, pick up!" Pascalle urges, making me chuckle.

"Hey," I greet him after picking up.

"Hey, how are you?" Daniel asks, making me smile knowing that he cared.

"I'm good, how are you?"

"Good as well. Is everything okay with your family?"

"My family?" I ask confused.

"You said there were family issues? That's why you had to leave, right?"

"Oh, yeah, of course! Sorry, it's been a long night."

"It's okay, don't worry. But I was wondering if you'd want to go out again?"

"Mommy!" I hear Macy call out. Pascalle gets up and smiles at me before going to Macy's room.

"Yeah, sure, when?" I ask Daniel, hoping Daniel didn't hear Macy call out as he has no idea that she even existed.

"Tonight?"

"Eh, yeah, sure," I say, surprised by Daniel's directness once again.

"Great, I'll come and pick you up around 7, okay?"

"Okay, sounds good."

"Alright, see you then."

"See you then," I say before hanging up.

"What was that about?" Pascalle asks as she walks back in with Macy on her hip.

"Daniel asked me on a date again."
