You sighed, Crossing your arms pouting and glaring at the screen before you "I swear.. This game blows. Knew I've shouldn't have taken any recommendations from Scrubs online" you cursed yourself, still in your rage quit moment.
You sighed again letting your arms fall to your sides, "Well.. I'll get over it, Just return it in a week or so, For something better" you reached your hand to your console placing your finger on the insert and outsert button making the disk come out, You placed back into its case and threw it to the side. "Hmm.. What do I play now? I mean I've already beaten and replayed all of my other games, And honestly thought that stupid game might of been a bit Cool, but totally sucked" you paused "well I can always.. Go be social, But then again, Being social is boring and just awkward. And my friend are all busy, Can't chill with them."
You started to randomly play with your controller, When you suddenly heard your front door open. You knew who that was, You quickly got up and raced down the stairs seeing none other than your Mother, You figured it was her, She was a single Mom, And you the only child. "Mom! Mom!" You shouted, Getting her attention, She looked up at you. "I'm here (Y/N), I can hear you. Don't have to make your presence known then it already is, I could hear your footsteps from upstairs." She laughed to herself, You crossed your arms and spoke on. "Haha Really funny mom, You should totally join stand up comedy" you said with sarcasm, She chuckled.
"Why thank you" You're mom said as she made her way in the kitchen, You followed behind her. "So, I suspect you want something from me." She placed her bag down on the table, And turned her focus on you. "Well..." you prepared yourself on what you were going to say, Knowing that she might get upset, Scratch that, You KNEW she was going to get upset. "So like, You knew the game I've gotten like 2 days ago? So I've played it... And it sucks really bad" She stared at you, Giving no facial expression, That is very scary, Specially from a Mom. "So, You're saying I've basically gave you 30$ to waste it on a game you've only played for 2 days, And now saying it sucks. You better have that receipt still, And be able to return it. Because I am not wasting another 30$ on a game for your entertainment." She stated, You knew she would say something like that. "Yes I have it, And yes I can return, But Mooom, I am bored and I've played all my other games. I NEED something to play." You basically made it quite clear that you were in the need for game, Your mom gotten a sudden smirk upon her face.
"Well I have one option, That you might or might not like." You were all ears, Waiting on what you're mother had planned for you. You gestured a eyebrow waiting on her response, "Follow me" she then walked pass you making her way upstairs, You followed. Once she made her way upstairs she stopped in the hallway, and turned her direction to a door, placing her hand on the knob. "Um.. Mom why are we going in the Attic?" She laughed, "Look, I'll be right back Okay? I'm going to go get it, It's a surprise." She then opened the attic door, Making her way up another flight of stairs, You waited at least a good 5 minutes before she came down. "Close your eyes." She said, You sighed closing your eyes. "Okay.. Open them" your eyes darted to what was in your mothers hands, You couldn't believe it, You thought she was joking.
"Mom. You're kidding me." You were about to laugh, What was in front of you was a old Nintendo, You never recognized it before, It had it wired controller and it was covered in layers of dust. "I know. It looks quite abnormal to you kids nowadays, But this is what I use to play, Yeah, Your mom was a gamer too." You breathed in, You wished this moment wasn't happening. "Mom look, It's nice, You've decided to pass on your... What ever that is" You pointed to it, pausing a moment. "But I am in no interest, I rather replay my other games" You stated, Turning down your moms offer. "Ok look, Play it and I'll buy you another game. Deal? When you at least play it for about maybe 3 whole days, I'll take you to GameStop and I'll get you whatever game you like." You quickly snatched the old console out your mothers grasp, "Frickin' Deal." You walked away heading to your room once you entered your room you made your to your console, Turning it off and putting it off to the side making room for the Nintendo. You placed down and blew it off, "Does she not clean up there?" You wondered, And hooked up the Nintendo, Once you've turned it on, you looked around for a game. "This thing has a slot.. So I guess the game goes there, But.. Where's the game." You looked around "Maybe she didn't--" Before you could finish your sentence, You noticed something, you picked it up examining the figure. "I swear that wasn't there a moment ago" You held in your hand was a grey Cartridge, It read;
'Legend of Zelda Major's Mask'
You never heard of it, And this was coming from a Gamer since (Your Age) Years. You were curious, So you hurried and placed the cartridge in the Nintendo, And began to play. After about a good 30 minutes, You started to notice things, The game was glitching a lot, Too much for your liking. It kinda freaked you out, There was plenty of stuff you noticed, Like the already saved progress... Stranger was, It read a name, none that you known. The file was called "BEN", You knew that saved progress didn't come from your mother, Maybe a old friend she use to have? Maybe she invited over long ago and he played on it, Maybe his name was Ben?
You came up with many things but eventually shrugged it off, The glitches happened a lot but you've gotten use to it, Until the subtitles started to show up, Making goosebumps run through your whole body. Now it was getting out of hand, You've quickly unplugged the Nintendo.
It didn't turn off.
You sat there, Eyes wide as your heart raced, The screen went black a few minutes after, Giving you a moment of relief but then bold white letters appeared on the screen.
"You've shouldn't have done that"
Suddenly your screen started to glitch up again, But this time with code. 0's and 1's covered the screen, A green mist started to emerge from the your T.V. You froze in fear, not knowing what to do but watch. A loud buzzing sound could be heard as a hand ripped through the screen, a scream dared to rip through your throat but nothing was heard, You were frozen in complete fear, All you could really hear was your heart and the loud buzzing sound. More body parts eventually came through the screen, Making out a person.
Your eyes trailed up as the boy stood in front of you, He looked down at you, But suddenly crouched down, He was directly looking into your eyes his red glowing orbs staring into your dilated ones, The Buzzing sound stopped, Leaving the quiet atmosphere only to be heard.
He brought his finger to your nose, The boy Poked the bridge of it.
"Boop."
He chuckled, In that moment you knew you were going to black out. "Hey, Its Ben." The boy smiled, "Nice to finally meet you (Y/N)" He gestured a hand out, Everything turned black, You were out cold.
"Aw. Poor thing, I was looking forward to knowing you." Ben said pouting a bit, He stood back up and snapped his fingers making a green mist surround your body, It pulled you in the air, Ben motion his fingers to your bed, The green mist followed with you in it, He laid you on your bed. "I guess I'll just wait until you wake up. But until then, Goodnight (Y/N)."
Ben placed his body back into the screen, But suddenly stuck his hand out again "Almost forgot" he motioned his fingers to make the sheets cover you, With that he chuckled and went back into the screen completely.
