Hand In Hand

Chapter 9 (PICTURE OF CODY)

He asked raising and eyebrow.

I bit my lip and looked down.
"I- Uhmm... Well- I... Guuhh!! It doesn't matter!! J-just go!"

I said freaking out.

"Do you really truely want me to leave? Be 100% honest."

He said softly as his sad eyes looked right into mine. I was hooked, no way I could look away now. I thought for a second. My mind said lie, lie to him right now! SAY YES! But my heart was crying and wanted me to say hell no don't leave me, hold on to him and never let go!!

"Go."

I ordered.

"You never answered the question."

He said raising an eyebrow.

I took a deep breath.

'I don't have to answer the question but this is my hospital room and I am asking you nicely to leave."

I said holding back the tears that wanted to form in my eyes.

"But do you want me to leave this room and have Matt come in here?"
He asked as fear built up inside me. The tears started forming, I couldn't stop them. My eyes got water and I opened my mouth to speak but he interuppted me.

"Because I will go if you tell me with 100 % honesty that you want Matt to come in here."

He said saddly.

I remained quiet and looked away from him letting the tears fall. I need to stay strong and he can't see me cry. Becuase if I wanted him to leave I wouldn't be crying and I would have already answered the question.

"It doesn't matter what I want... It matters what is right."

I said looking away from him even more.

His hand touched my face turning it to look him in the eyes.

"So you want me to stay here?"
He asked quietly. Tears fell from my face as I nodded slowly.

He stood up quickly and sat right next to me on the bed. His arms wrapped around my waist and I immediatly wrapped mine around neck laying my head on my arm and closing my eyes. After a while of hugging he released me from his arms but I held on tighter to him not letting go so he wrapped his arms around me again. I could just tell he was smiling when I did that. I don't know how long it was but I began to doze off into a deep sleep.

I woke up in the hospital bed but Chris wasn't there. My mom was.

"Matt went home because he was sick of sitting in the waiting room and Chris went home to shower and change his clothes. He told me he'd be right back though."

She said smiling. Yup that sound's like Chris and that definately sounds like Matt.

"How are you feeling?"

She asked.

"My head hurts and I'm tired."

I said in a hoarse voice.

She stroked my face smiling.

"You know I love you right Ally?"

She said as a tear fell down her face. Wow that was random.

"Yes mom. I love you too."

I said smiling.

"I-I was so scared I had lost you too."

She said crying.

"But you are just like your father. You're a fighter."

She said and squeezed my hand.

"So are you mom."

I said acting like she was stupid for saying that.

She shook her head quickly.

"Not like you... Never like you."

She said seriously.

The door whipped open.

"ALLY!!!"
Cody came running in with tears down his face. He jumped on the bed and I smiled shaking my head.

"Careful."

Mom said as he rolled his eyes.

"I'm not gonna fall Mommy."

He said annoyed.

"No be careful you don't hurt Ally."

She said as his face went scared and he looked at me wide eyed.

"SORRY!"

He said getting off the bed. I snatched him before he got on the floor and squeezed him in a hug.

"I'm fine bud."

I said kissing his temple.

My neighbor Kelly was standing by my mom smiling.

"Are you all better now?"

He asked sadly.

"Yes I'm perfectly healthy buddy."

I said setting him on my lap facing me.

"I love you sissy."

He said looking at me with those big brown eyes like my mom's.

"I love you too."

I said poking his belly making him laugh.

This moment would be totally complete if Kelly wasn't here but my dad was. Sadly that's not gonna happen. I could be with him now. But I'm not.
