Chapter Three

{Lukas}

I layed on my bed, eyes covered by one of my fluffy white pillows.

I just got off the phone with my mother. Her words still echo in my mind...

"They're back.."

I've seen the signs, but I've been denying them for years.

And I will continue to do so, as I'm needed outside of my head and in the real world today. It's a big day for not only me, but for the whole Mercury Pack. Today, we get those young hopefuls from the Venus Pack.

To add on to the excitement of hosting, this is my first year leading since my mother stepped down from being the Luna. I lost my father when I was 7 in the Purges. Therefore, my mother had to serve alone as Luna for the past 12 years.

It's my turn.

I sighed, running my fingers through my hair and sitting up. I glanced at the clock. 9:29pm. Any minute now...

Just then, my Beta, Neo, knocked on the door. Punctual as ever.

"Come in, Neo." I yelled, not even looking towards the door. Neo walked in, standing by the edge of my bed.

"Sir, you might want to get dressed..." He said, his eyes pointedly combing over me. I looked down at myself.

No shirt, sweat pants, and ruffled hair.

"I think I look great." I say, smirking and standing, walking towards my closet. He walks with me, looking exasperated.

"Sir-" He started.

"Relax, Neo. I'm goin'..."

He checked his watch, his face showing stress. "Sir, you have 23 minutes until you have to be down there!"

I enter my walk-in closet, running my hands over my multitude of shirts. I settle on a simple black one, putting on some jeans to pair.

I comb my hair and slightly style it before putting on some sneakers.

When I walk out, Neo first looks relieved, then his face falls.

"Alpha, that's hardly formal enough."

"It'll be fine, Neo. Try not to worry about everything for once." I give him a small smile and pat his shoulder. He attempts a smile and visibly relaxes.

We make our way to the door, walking out and waving to the guards. I look at Neo's watch. 6 minutes.

I lightly jog down the stairs, going outside and hopping in my white SUV. I love this car...

I start it up once Neo joins me and start making my way to the Pack center.

I look up to the Platform to see Jarron already there. We're pretty good friends. We met early in life at school (Yes, us wolves have school).

He glances over at me, the ghost of a smile appearing on his features.

Still the same Jarron.

"...Meet Alpha Lukas, everyone!" He exclaims. I take that as my cue to hop onto the Platform. I gaze out at all of the girls as Jarron moves to the side of the Platform where Neo stands. I have a smirk on my face.

I know how I look.

"Hello everyone! Please follow me t-"

I stopped.

It's her.

She's stunning. Her curly dark hair reaching just past her shoulders and her dark eyes gazing into my very being, stealing my breath. Her skin was like caramel. Just...

Perfect.

I cleared my throat. Can't get distracted, especially right now.

My eyes dart around as I continue.

"So, uh, let's get going everyone!" I motion to Neo to help direct everyone to the estate. He nods and walks toward me.

"Are you alright, sir?"

I nod. "Yeah, I'm great... Just... Keep an eye on that curly haired girl who was in the middle of the 'herd'." He chuckles a bit at my joke, but nods nonetheless.

I look forward, focusing on the goal.

I have to see her again.

Hihi!! I'm a little late (I know. I'm terrible.)

But....

WE GOT A LUKAS POV!!!

And... It's short again.

But I left all of you with a slight curiosity (hopefully)... *evilly cackles*

Yes. You have permission to kill me.

I will try my absolute best to be on time next update.

Btw, My update SHOULD be every two days. So yell at me if I'm slacking.
