Masked Secrets

Chapter 1

I threw my bag on my bed and straight away hit the shower . As the water cascaded down my face, I felt all of my tiredness being washed away slowly .

I stood under the water for nearly 20 minutes and realised if my mom walked in any minute into my room now , I would be getting another lecture about not wasting water .

So begrudgingly I turned the faucet off and wrapped a towel around myself and walked to my closet . I picked out my favorite batman t-shirt and a pair of shorts and got comfortable on my bed ,with the new book I had borrowed from the library .

This book seemed so much more different than the ones I have seen so far , it's cover is made of brown leather and the letters on it were imprinted onto the leather to give it a mystic look .

It looked amazing but the problem was not the book . It was ME. The big question was... if I was ready for what was waiting for me inside the book.

Was I really prepared to learn something new ???

That was the big question .I sat there staring at the magical book that had me questioning myself .

I jerked out of my state of trance as I heard my mom ," Rosella dear , come have dinner before going to bed !"

I put the book on my study table and walked out of my room .

When I entered the dining room I saw my mum sitting on a chair at the table .

She was waiting patiently for me to come . I sat down beside her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey mum ! How was your day ? " I asked .

My mum is a great cook . No!!! That's an understatement !!! Hands down people , she is the best cook I've ever come across .

"My day was good sweetheart , how was yours ? " she asked me . "It was okay . But I found a book in the library that could help me find out more about my powers ! Guess that's the only interesting part apart from my boring college time ." I said lazily .

I heard my stomach grumble in hunger ,"Mom how about we eat first ?? I'm starving!"

"Sure honey! "she said as she grabbed the plates and served the yummy homemade pasta and passed me the sauce.

I hungrily scooped up the food and put it in my mouth and I internally moaned at the taste. It was spicy and so god damn yummy . Soon enough I took a second serving and finished it off just as soon as I had finished the first one.

While I sipped water from a glass my mum asked me ,"Sweety ,You didn't mention anything about that guy who visited you the other day , his name was T something, ummmmm .... Tom! No no no .... T T T....", I nearly choked on the water I was drinking, when I heard my mum trying so hard to get the name of the one guy I found so hard to acknowledge the existence of !!!

"It's T.H.E.O, theo mom! " I said while pretending to smile. My mum faintly smiled and said ,"That's a cute name .Theo ...Theo ... " , this was harder than I thought .

"Mom stop saying his name so many times , it's getting creepy .... "

"Oh! I guess you don't like it if any one says your prince charming's name huh?!" my mum said while wriggling her eyebrows .

I resisted the urge to pull my hair and scream out loud....Come on Rose just breathe , just breathe, relax , relax she is your mom so don't kill her. It's gonna be fine.

"Mom , just do me a favour and don't talk about that wierdo please ?! ", I pleaded with puppy-dog eyes.

"Wierdo ??!! I thought you liked him sweetheart!" my mum exclaimed .

"No I don't like that pain in the ass."

"Rose !! Watch the language." she dead panned .

"Hehe, sorry mom ." I said sheepishly as I tugged at my hair .

"Can you tell me one good reason as to why you don't like that young man?? "

"Mom I had a very tiring day .... Please can we keep the interrogation and grilling rose tills she dies code to a minimum ...Please ...." I begged .

"Okay sweety, go on and go to bed. We'll talk about this later."

Dammit! I knew my mum so well , she wouldn't let anything slip so easily .

Deciding to rest for the day I dragged myself up the stairs and opened my room door.I entered my room and switched on the light and when I turned around I didn't expect what I saw. Not in a million years did I see that coming !!!
