We climbed up the hill, then we rolled down the hill. The process repeated twice more before Gon had an idea. We would race. The first to get down the hill grab a rock then run back up the hill won. We did that a few times before quickly becoming bored. Soon enough we found ourselves laying in the soft grass, staring up at the sky.
White fluffy clouds passed by, being carried by the wind. The air smelt sweet, it might rain soon. Perhaps once it does our boredom will be cured. After all there's usually something to do in the rain. I stick my thumb into my mouth wetting it a bit. Once I remove it a pop noise is heard. It takes a second but soon enough the wind hits my thumb. Sadly the wind isn't harsh but rather soft. It'll take a while before the storm hits, that is if the clouds don't disperse before it does. I rest my hand back down onto my stomach. Mindlessly intertwining my fingers. Seconds pass without a sound. Then minutes.
Suddenly there's a snap noise. Gon and I spring up from our positions. Looking over at the forest near our modest house. The green leaves of the trees flow in the wind. The leaves almost looking like hands motioning us forward. We share a glance. This time I get an idea. I raise my wrist to my mouth before making a noise that sounds vaguely similar to static. "I'm getting strange vibes from that place. Over." I make the noise again before lowering my hand. Gon smiles and repeats my beginning motions. "Same here. Think we should investigate? Over."
I smirk, and so our mission begins. "Yeah we have too investigate. However we need supplies. We can't go in empty handed. Over."
"Roger that. Over."
We stand and run to the house at full speed. We stop before the door. "Enter with caution Gon. Over." He looks at me a nods. Slowly and carefully he grabs the doorknob. The door creaks open. We peak our heads through and look around. Coast clear. We tip toe into the house. "We need food and weapons. Over." Gon says. I start tip toeing to the kitchen. "Got it, you go get the weapons. Oh and Gon, if anyone asks, tell them we're fine. Over." I enter the room with extreme caution. I hear the floorboards creak as Gon climbs up them. I smirk, time to scavenge.
Observing the room something red catches my eye. Apples! I run as silently as possible. Once I reach them I stop. I need something to carry them in. I look around a second time. Nothing. Well nothing I can see right now. I remove my contacts and activate my scarlet eyes. I see traces of people. Ah-ha! A fabric bag! I grab four apples then stuff them into the bag. Step one complete. I head back towards the door. "Oh, hi Ava. What are you up too?" Mito-san greets me. No! I've been caught! I was too careless. Quick play it cool. "Nothing Mito-san!"-I pause-"But if anyone asks, tell them we're fine." With that I run away.
I meet Gon at the edge of the woods. "What took you so long? Over." Gon asks. I sigh. "I got caught. Over." Gon's face shows panic for a second. "Don't worry I played it cool. Over." Gon looks at me skeptically. "Did you tell her...we're fine?" I smirk then nod. Gon returns the gesture. With that we break into a run. Time to investigate!
