To whom it may concern,

My lungs were desperately in need of air and yet I fought with it.

I remained steady and not breathing.
I stood there silently, nothingness clouded my mind.

And for the first time in my life, I felt something different, something I never felt before. And I admit that I fell in love with that feeling.

I remember it clearly, that vivid memory.

Wherein I felt and heard how my heart kept me alive, how it beats every second. It was a first, that feeling.

I remembered how it pounds inside me, how the sound of it gave me warmth and how it proved that I was alive, that I am alive.

But sadly, my lungs were already screaming for air and I could not take the suffocation anymore, that is why, even if I did not want to I still did...

I breathed.

And that is how it all went back to square one.

How I was dead then was alive for a heartbeat...

And dead again.
