Chapter 1

10 months later...

I woke up with tears in my eyes. I looked around the room. I had been having the same dream over and over. I was laying in bed in my room. The room that I shared with Newt. Until he was taking from me 10 months ago.

I only know its been that long because of Teresa the nice girl that's in the room next door. She taught me to read and write. She's really nice. I also met a boy named Thomas. But he's gone now. He went into the same place Newt went. The maze. Teresa told me she's going to. I don't know when but im gonna miss her heaps. I still don't know what there going to do with me.

suddenly I had an amazing idea. I jumped out of bed and pulled a jumper over my pajamas and slipped on some shoes. I opened the door slowly to make sure no one was outside and slipped out. My Destination: The meeting room. I was praying there were no meetings going on. I slipped through the halls not coming across anyone.

I finally found the meeting room and slipped inside when I heard a bunch of footsteps come into the meeting room. I quickly slipped under a desk as everyone took there seats. I quickly grabbed a piece of paper and a pen that was above me on the table and sat there, waiting for the meeting to be over. 'We are here to discuss Teresa, the newest subject that will soon be inserted into the maze. The box is due to take her in 2 days' a women's voice said. My legs started to get cramped so i decide to run. I stuffed the paper up my jumper and the pen in my pocket and quickly scurried on all fours out he door. After that i ran back to my room and slammed the door shut
