The rain slammed against his skin, soaking him as he ran down the wet pavement, water splashing everywhere each time he stepped in a puddle. Jacob knew he might get sick from the freezing rain but he couldn't care less. Being sick was the lesser of his worries.

The sun was still sitting above the horizon, its orange and purple hues blocked by the rain clouds surrounding it. But the sight was still breathtaking, Jacob also came to the realization the sunsets and sunrises of this town were beautiful, even if it was nearly always raining the sunrises stayed clear in the horizon and the sunsets too.

Jacob avoiding the park he went to last time, in fear Connor possibly would be there. He didn't want to talk to him till he was certain he knew exactly what to say.

Jacob was sat in second period for Troye to walk in, but as the late bell rang Jacob realized he might not be coming.

Tyler with a confused frown looks at him, gesturing towards the empty seat beside him that should be occupied by the presence of Troye.

"Where is he? He never usually misses class," Tyler questions in a hushed tone as the teacher handed out papers she had graded. "Did you two have a fight?" Tyler questions.

Jacob shrugs his shoulders, "Sorta, he's been ignoring since. I'm not sure why," Jacob was curious as to why Troye had been acting as he was a plague.

Speak of the devil, Troye rushes into the room, looking a mess his hair disheveled and looking wet from the rain that was still falling. He hands the teacher his late slip taking his seat beside Jacob, who looked over at him quizzically.

Jacob looks towards Troye his ocean eyes bloodshot from the lack of sleep he seemed to getting. It was that or either he was crying. Jacob opted for the first one. He didn't like the thought of Troye crying, it made him upset to know such beautiful eyes can hide a lot things behind them.

"You okay?" Jacob questions in a whisper so it was only Troye that could hear his words. Troye nods his head, turning away from Jacob which made him grow frustrated. "If I did something please tell me." Jacob says a little louder, Troye stares into his hazel eyes rolling his blue ones at Jacob.

"It's not always about you. I just have a lot going on and I don't need people's pity," he spat his words dripping with anger. Jacob knew this would happen, he knew how Troye couldn't control his temper nor control the words spilling from his lips.  But yet Jacob believed he could somehow help him.

Jacob chuckles dryly shaking his head, "It's called caring, I'm not taking pity on you, trust me I know how it feels to only have friends because they pity you," Jacob says staring at Troye with such intensity.

It was Troye's turn to laugh bitterly, his cerulean eyes glaring at Jacob with the same look Jacob was giving him, "You'd never understand,"

"Then help me understand,"

Jacob's eyes soften staring into his eyes, Troye sighs playing with the edge of the paper that had been handed to him. He grins smugly at Jacob a glow of mirth shining in his orbs.

"I'll try my best," he softly says, Jacob grins at him, rolling his hazel eyes.

"You two are weird," Tyler says snapping them out of their conversation. Tyler looks between the two with an eye roll but a smug smirk was still on his lips.

"You're just jealous he's my best friend," Troye smirks sticking his tongue out at Tyler who rolls his eyes again but this time ignores the two.

It know was lunchtime meaning Jacob and Troye were both rushing to get out of lunch to talk to one another. The two told their friends it was just hunger making them rush, but of course that was a lie.

Troye stood in the lunch line waiting for Jacob to arrive, he looked around the cafeteria trying to spot the boy, when he did a wide grin spills over his face. Something about Jacob's presence seemed to make his day better, he wanted to deny it, but of course he couldn't anymore.

Jacob wraps his arms around Troye's shoulder, Jacob being taller purposefully bent down pretending he was more taller than Troye was even though there was only a few inches of a height difference.

A group of guys walk past the two, a disgusted look on their faces. Jacob knew exactly why. It was not socially expectable for a guy to have their arm around another guy without them being gay, Jacob knew that was bullshit and didn't care what people thought he did.

"Faggots," the red haired guy sneers, his eyes rolling at them. Jacob felt a rage come over him, he didn't like the word nor did he like it being used in the sense they were using it.

Jacob drops his arm from around Troye, glaring at the red haired guy, "You wanna say that again?" Jacob says getting closer the guy, he glares at Jacob.

"I called you two faggots,"

"Didn't your parents teach you to keep your opinions to yourself? If you open your mouth again I won't hesitate to fucking punch you, all of you. Got that?" Jacob sneers, grabbing Troye and dragging him away from the guys. They looked stunned, their eyes wide in fear. Jacob wasn't kidding nor was messing around to scare them, he didn't like what they were saying nor did he want to hear it.

Troye sits down at the table, his tray sitting in front of him, Jacob sits beside him without a tray of food.

"Hey Troye?" Jacob says smiling at him innocently, Troye rolls his eyes shaking his head a smile on his lips though.

"No I'm not sharing," he smirks up at Jacob who took the chance and stole a fry off his tray. "Hey!" Troye says hitting his arm. Jacob smiles widely putting an arm around Troye again.

"I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to the movies?" Jacob questions in a hushed tone, his breath tickling Troye's ear.

"If I agree you promise we won't see a horror movie?" Troye says playing with the loose thread of Jacob's black skinny jeans.

Jacob grins at him mischievously, "But I'll hold you if you get scared," he says the grin never leaving his lips.

"Oh shut up," Troye giggles. Jacob felt his heart flutter and his stomach do that flipping thing it did when he usually was around Troye.

I wish I wasn't falling for you, jesus it would make it so easy to your friend. Jacob didn't like falling nor did he like the person he was falling for, he never thought he would be falling for a boy yet here he was his heart in his throat as he slowly started to fall more and more for him.

I can't fall for you.
