Chapter 1

Melissa's POV
I had just turned 19 a couple of weeks ago and I'm starting to feel different. I'm an only child and happy about it. My parents just sent me to live at my grandmother's house. My cousins also live here which is weird. Why would we all live together?

"Honey, come eat. Dinner is ready!"

"Coming!"

My cousin Genevieve has turned into my best friend since I moved in with grandma. We tell each other everything. Genevieve is also my age just a couple of months older.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and since I was close to it I answered.

"Yes?"
"Hi I come from Elemental Academy!"
Said a really beautiful young lady.She looked about 20ish years old.

"What?"I asked

Grandma showed up and asked me to eat dinner with Genevieve.

"Hey Gen what's "Elemental Academy"?" I put air quotes around the word.
Her eyes grew wide and she looked away
"I don't know" she answered too quickly
"Okay then"

Grandma returned to the table and looked at Gen. Gen nodded and left. It was weird like it was already planned.

"Grandma who was that at the door?"

"Look honey," she started " you're not any ordinary girl.No one in our family is.That's why you need to go with Genevieve to Elemental Academy. You'll leave tomorrow everything and everything will be explained."

I couldn't believe it. I just stared at her with a blank expression on my face.

I left up to my room. I ran. I needed to think.I just stared at my wall, thinking.

Why did I have to leave? Who was that lady? Is grandma going crazy?!

Those were some questions but the most important one was

"Who am I?"

After that I fell into a dreamless sleep.
