Rangers Boss Wary of Dangers of Signing Too Many Players In January

The Boss the of Rangers Checkers Tournament, Wally Wombat Warburton, always signed up new checkers players every month. He was wary of signing up too many new members in January, because of all those who made New Year's resolutions to dedicate their lives to checkers, and then lapsed, as the year went on, when the strain became too much.

Warburton is wary of the dangers of being too active in January, and in their excitement, the players throw the checkers up in the air. When this happens. many pieces become lost behind and under couches and chairs, as well as sometimes under washers and dryers, when checkers is played while doing laundry.

Many accuse Wally of being too wary, but most agree with his wariness. They all remember one Ranger who went too far, and ended up going off into the desert to play checkers by himself for many years, and became well-known in the area as The Lone Ranger. He did eventually find a partner (named Tonto), but the title remained.
