Alternate ending-2

(Yes it starts like the other but please don't skip it, this chapter ends different. If you don't want to re-read, then just skip to the end of the second flashback)

-POV Opal-

"Shut up!"

"No! Just let me touch it and smell it."

"Stop being a creep."

"I'm your boyfriend, I'm supposed to be a creep."

Samm and I were going round and round his couch because he wanted to play with my hair. It's not that I didn't want him to, I just like teasing him.

Suddenly Samm caught me and pulled me down onto the couch. We both laughed.

He was on top of me running his fingers though my hair, "God I just love it so much."

I laughed, "I have no clue why."

"Neither do I, I just," he paused, "I like the smell and I just find it fascinating."

"Wanna know what I find fascinating?" I asked him.

"And what would that be?"

"Your eyes, did you know Hitler only kept people that were blonde and had blue eyes, lucky you, you most likely wouldn't have died during the Holocaust."

"Why did I need to know this?"

"Just your little fact of the day," I laughed and leaned up to kiss him-

"Opal!"

"What?" I mumbled as I came out of my memory.

"Are you feeling okay dear? Do you need to leave early?" Miss. Hayden's voice filled my mind.

"What? No, I'm fine, just a little out of it today."

"Alright dear, you only have one more class to get though, here," she walked up to me and took half the papers out of the turn in basket, "you don't have to do all of them."

I nodded, "alright."

I finished the worksheets and got through the rest of class.

"Let me walk you out to your car dear," Miss. Hayden told me after the final bell rang.

She walked me out to my car and I waved her off. I really didn't want to hassle her but she wanted to.

I opened my car door and was almost brought to tears. Sitting in the seat with a red bow was the book to told Samm about when we first started dating.

I got in the truck and held the book to my chest and closed my eyes.

"Ugh!" I slammed my phone down on to the coffee table.

"What's got you all fussed up?" Samm asked walking into the room.

"I'm trying to get this book that I seriously want to read, but no book store around here has a copy!"

"What's it called?"

"Victoria, it's about a girl who becomes the queen of Britain and Ireland." I shoved my face into the couch.

I heard Samm laugh, he sat next to me, "how much do you want this book?"

"A lot! I have been waiting forever for it to get released, and when it finally did no one has it!" I took a deep breath and sat up.

Samm leaned on me, "do you have any other books that you want?"

"Not any I can think of off the top of my head."

He nodded, "alright."

I opened my eyes and found myself crying. I softly wiped my cheeks with my hands. I put the book in the passagers seat.

I sniffed and glanced up at the now withering white rose and smiled.

Stop crying, it'll all be fine.

I dug through my glove box and found Kylee's phone number.

I typed the number in to my phone. Before I hit call I cleared my throat, "test test," I said it until my voice didn't sound so scratchy.

Then I hit call.

It rang a few times before a very formal male voice asked who I was.

"I'm umm, my name is Opal, your daughter is one my students," I knew she wasn't my student, but she was close enough to it.

"I'm sorry, but I don't have a daughter," I heard the man clear his throat.

"Kylee, she's you're daughter is she not?"

"No she's not my daughter," he sounded disgusted, "she's my niece I got stuck with when my sister died."

"Oh, well I was wondering if-" what I was hearing on the other end changed and a female voice came through the speaker.

"Hello, I'm sorry about my husband, he's a bit of a grouch."

"No worries ma'am, I was just asking about Kylee."

"Oh Kylee, she's a wonderful child, isn't she?"

"Yes, regarding Kylee, I was wondering if I could come over to your house and talk to you about her future. I believe she has a high chance of graduating high school early."

The woman's voice became distant, "Did you hear that Ron? Kylee is exponentially talented, like I told you!" Her voice became clear again, and she gave me her address. I wrote it down and nodded.

"May I come over now?"

"I'd be lying if I said no," I smiled.

"I'll be there soon."

I put the address into my phone and followed the Gps. A twenty-minute drive led me to a beautiful marble mansion.

That couldn't be right, the driveway was gated in and I needed a code. I re called the home number and the woman picked up, instantly she said the code was 260547.

I leaned out if my truck window and punched in the code. The gate made a click and slowly opened.

It felt like a scene out of a movie. As soon as I got up for the house a valet came rushing from the porch. As soon as I looked at his face I knew who he was.

Kyler, the barista that Asher had attacked.

I got out of my truck and as soon as he saw me his face flushed red.

He scratched the back of his head, "O-Opal, hey." He gave a slight smile.

"Hey, what are you doing working as a valet at a private residence?"

"Mr. York doesn't like cars parked outside his house. Plus this is a step up from a barista."

I handed him my keys, "well Kyler, here are my keys," I pulled my wallet out from my back pocket and handed him a ten.

"Oh, no thank you," he smiled at me, "for you, I'd do anything," then he turned red more. "I mean.. You don't have to pay me."

I laughed and tucked the bill into his red vest, "you must really dislike money, keep the ten."
