Me: You don't have to, I was planning on taking my bike anyway and I wouldn't want Brooke to hate me again for being seen with you.

I didn't expect Ashton to come get me since he hadn't called or texted me this morning to ask if I was coming or not. Why is it that my friend cares more about me than my boyfriend does at times?

Luke: I'm sure she'll understand. She can't get mad at me for doing a friend a favor.

Me: I'll be fine, Luke. I'll see you at school.

I chuckled to myself as I sent the text and then put my phone down to finish my task. Once I was all ready, I grabbed my phone, tucking it in my back pocket and my book bag and headed downstairs. I went outside and grabbed my bike from the side of the house, mounting it and making my way to school.

When I arrived, I chained up my bike and went inside the building. I headed straight for my locker, not wanting to be the one to seek him out. He's the one that was out of line so he should come to me. Besides, I'm not sure what I'd even say to him. I'm not mad enough to break up with him, at least I don't think I am. I really don't want us to be over but he's making this relationship harder than it has to be. It wasn't this hard with Luke, although everything was fake, it still felt real to me and there were few occasions where we fought and didn't talk.

I closed my door and he was standing behind it, startling me a little.

"Oh, hi, Ash." I said.

"Hey, Avery." He mumbled and finally looked up at me. "What happened to your nose?"

"Oh, uh, I...I got stung...by a bee. Yep, I got stung by a bee on my nose." I mentally slapped myself for not having a better excuse prepared.

He nodded and we fell silent once again. "This shouldn't be so hard." He spoke up after a few moments of neither of us talking. "What I did and said was wrong, so wrong, and I'm so sorry. I guess I'm not used to being rejected in that sense and I totally understand if you never want to see me again." He rushed.

"Ash," I sighed, "of course I want to keep seeing you, you just offended me and I felt disrespected. How do I know you won't do something like that again?" I asked.

"I swear I won't." He said, placing his hands on my waist. "You're too special to lose. I was an idiot and I really hope you forgive me."

"You are an idiot." I chuckled, earning a smile from him. "And of course I forgive you, but this is your last chance."

"And I promise I won't do anything stupid." He said, pulling me in for a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck and chuckled. "To make it up to you," he began, pulling away so we could look each other in the eye, "I'm taking you out on a romantic date Saturday night to show you I can be the guy you deserve."

"You don't have to go through the trouble."

"Let me do something special for you for once, okay?" He chuckled.

I giggled and nodded. "Okay."

He smiled and caressed my face and leaned in for a kiss. I closed my eyes as he deepened it but it didn't last too long because a teacher came and broke us up. After giving us a speech about how we shouldn't display very affectionate moments in public, he walked off and we laughed.

"How about I walk you to class?" Ashton asked, taking my hand.

"I'd like that." I smiled and we headed to my first class of the day.

"Do you guys mind if we sit here?" I looked up and was surprised to see Luke and Brooke standing beside our table.
