Chapter 12
Unedited

I had never slept better in my life. In fact I slept so well that when I woke up I failed to notice one tiny little detail - Tristan was not next to me, and the part of the bed where he had been wasn't warm either. I frowned to myself, it was a Saturday, where would he have gone?

I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed, I thought I was finally starting to understand where I stood with him. The picture of a black wolf flashed its menacing teeth in my mind and I involuntarily shuddered. Maybe this was for the better? I let out a sigh as I began to brush my hair.

I caught sight of my neck in the mirror and winced. It was a large bruise, peppered with red - it made my stomach clench, it was the grossest thing I'd ever seen. I tried to cover it up the best I could before glancing around my room. I had nothing to do, so I decided to take advantage of the beautiful morning.

I ended up wandering towards the gym. Nicole was probably in there coming up with the next routine, I could keep her company. The morning was a pleasant one, I happily strolled along listening to the bird's tweeting their morning songs.

"I was hoping I would run into you." I smiled at the familiar Irish accent.

"Edon, nice to see your face again." She grinned back, skipped up to me and put her arm around my shoulder, which was quite a funny considering I was a good four inches taller than her. We walked for a little bit in silence.

"You smell like Tristan." Edon said nonchalantly, I raised my eyebrows, no doubt starting to go red.

"Thats a weird thing to say." I choked out, Edon laughed dropping her arm off of my shoulder. She looked up at the gym before stuffing her hands into her pockets and looking down at her worn out doc martens.

"I'm going away for a while," Edon said quietly, "there's some... business I need to look into, I should be back soon." I couldn't help but pout a little. Edon was the only other person who didn't think I was completely crazy after Tristan's change. I sighed and pulled her in for a hug.

"I'll miss you." I said, she stiffened before relaxing and hugging me back. As soon as I let go she turned and walked away. I felt a little sad, but shook it off; she would be back soon.

I heard Nicole before I saw her, she was shouting at the other girls, definitely not alone as I had originally thought. I held a small amount of sympathy for them, they were all in plank with Nicole wandering around. I couldn't help but rub my stomach. Lottie saw me and shifted onto one arm so she could wave at me briefely.

Nicole looked up and waved as well before telling one of the girls who had given up to run the track twice. I gave her a sorry smile and she rolled her eys and laughed before beginning her run.

Nicole set the remaining girls on the routine, and Lottie dove straight in pumping up the others, that girl really did breathe a little extra life into the group. Nicole ran up to me and patted me on the back.

"When I said you could hang out with us, I didn't mean you had to come and sit in on all the practices." she remarked with a smirk as I pushed her a little.

"Shut up, I enjoy watching people do things I never would be able to." She rolled her eyes and let out a deep sigh, causing her to stiffen. Then she sniffled a little, and widened her eyes.

"You smell a lot like Tristan." My face went bright red, not again. The other girls seemed to hear her and ran over excited. I felt like it was my first day all over again. I held my head in my hands as I was surrounded by a chorus of questions.

"Isn't the football final next week, don't you think that you should be practising the routine or something?" Lottie pushed to the front and closely inspected my neck, she shook her head and pouted, even Nicole looked a little disappointed, but she hurried the girls to get back to practising.
