Chapter 16
Don't say baby
Today was my baby shower and we aren't suppose to say baby or we have to wear a fake baby stomach for the rest of the shower. That means I can say baby when ever I want because I'm pregnant and I don't think they could get that on my belly. Regina and Rachel were the ones who came up with all the games and stuff. April was the one with the food and decorations and all I had to sit there and look pretty. I hate this job the most cause I like to be alone but no I have a thousand little faces and hands around my belly.
"You're going to be the cutest little thing in the world" Christie said in a little baby voice
"Yes, you are" Hannah Said
"Were going to teach you how to read and listen to music" Angie said
"Are you guys ready for the dirty diaper game?" Regina asked
"How do you play?"
"We have a set of diaper with numbers on them with melted candy bars in them, you have to guess what's in the dirty diaper and write them down on these sheets" She said while passing the sheets out
"Let the games begin"
She passed all the diapers around while we tasted what was in the diaper. There were 5 diapers and 5 names of candy bars. We had to list what candy we thought was in each diaper. After that we had to give Regina our answers and she tallied them up.
"And the winner is Christie"
"Yes. What do I get?" Christie said
"A 200 dollar gift card for Target" Rachel said
"That's good. Me and Andrew can go buy some more plates and cups for our apartment" Christie said
"Wait just a minute. You and Andrew?" I said
"Yes! We got back together last month but I didn't tell you because of your condition" Christie said pointing to my belly
"You could have told me I wouldn't have cared"
"Great. Now lets touch the baby and start talking to it again" Christie said
"Will you guys leave my belly alone for one second while I get the little thing something to eat"
"What! Were just happy that our best friend is going to have a baby" Hannah said.
"OMG. You said baby that means you have to wear the belly" I said
"Oh no. Don't put that thing on me"
"You said it, now be ready for the consequences"
"Ok but how long do I have to wear it"
"Until the party is over with"
"Well you better get to opening the presents so we can get this thing over with"
I started opening presents. Christie got me a rocking chair with cushions and a 20 pack of green bottles with the warmer and steam sterilizer. Hannah bought a pink blanket, pink bathtub with bath accessories, and a safety and grooming kit. Angie got a stroller, diaper bag, and highchair covers. Regina bought the crib and the covers to go in it. April got a car seat and shopping cart covers.
"Why do I need the highchair and shopping cart covers"
"So the baby's tushie want get cold when it sits in the highchair or shopping cart." Rachel said
"Okay"
" I have a surprise for you. Instead of getting a regular cake, I got a diaper cake"
"That's awesome" I say as she pulls out this beautiful diaper cake with a ballerina shoe on front.
"OMG. That's so cute!!" Hannah began a girly squeal
"Would you quit with the girly squeal?"
"What! I can't help it. I'm just so excited"
"Well, I hope I don't have another on of these"
"Why?"
"When you have a thousand people patting your stomach and talking to it, you wouldn't like experiencing that again"
"Your going to have to get over that"
"I know but it just gets on my nerves since I don't like causing too much attention to myself"
"It will get better"
"Okay. Well I think the party over cause I'm feeling beat. Thanks everybody for the gifts. I hope you all get home safe" I said watching everyone getting ready to leave.
"Did you have a great time?" Regina asked
"Yes it was awesome but where are the boys. I miss Demetri already"
"They went out so we could have the party. I'll call and tell them, they can come home now"
"Okay"
Regina made the call while Rachel and April were taking everything from the party down. I felt that sturdy kick in the stomach again so I decided to get me something to eat. I went in the kitchen and made me a roast beef sandwich with cheese and Arby's sauce. I went back to the living room and sat down on the black sofa. After I finished my sandwich, I went to help Rachel clean the dishes and sweep the floor. One hour later, we had everything cleaned up and were watching a movie when the boys came in. I got up out of the chair and ran to Demetri
"Missed me?"
"More than you know"
"How was the party?"
"Great but I think we need to tell them not to buy so much."
"Well while we were out, we stopped by this place and bought some more diapers and baby wipes"
"We got like 100 packs of both and a wipe warmer"
"I know but we need a lot"
"If you say so"
"Are you tired any"
"Not really but I'm hungry"
"I'll start making supper" Regina said
"What are we having?" Demetri asked
"Spaghetti and garlic toast" Rachel said
"Umm. Yummy" Emanuel said
"I was just about to say the same thing" Jeremy said
"I'll set the table and make the drinks" Philip said
"Okay"
