How did I meet him? Well, I met him at a charity event, but not just any charity event. It was the Wayne charity event, hosted by one of the most powerful families in Gotham. Unfortunately, they suffered a tragic death many years ago. They say their son, Bruce Wayne, witnessed the whole thing.

The story goes that they were walking out of a movie theater when it happened. Bruce grew up just fine, but you rarely see him around except at events like these. After years of hard work, he took over his parents' company and eventually became the adoptive father of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and a couple of other boys. Although, if you ask Jason, he refuses to acknowledge it.

So how did I meet ______? Let me tell you—starting from the beginning.

*a few days before*

[In Your Apartment]

"Hey, you ready to go?" Itzel yelled from downstairs.

Itzel is my best friend. She and I moved to Gotham together, and somehow, she miraculously managed to get her hands on a pair of tickets to the charity event.

"Yeah, I'll be down in a second!" I called back.

I finished fixing my hair and carefully slipped on my dress, making sure not to wrinkle or tear it in my hurry. When I looked in the mirror, I had to pause...wow. I actually looked pretty. Well, at least everything had come together nicely.

Wait! Something was missing.

Of course my signature red lips.

I quickly uncapped my lipstick and applied it with smooth, practiced strokes.

"Hey! Y/N! Hurry up! If we're any later, we'll be there just in time to help clean up!"

"I'm done! I'm coming down now!"

I made my way carefully down the stairs, where Itzel was waiting, looking up at me.

"Wow, you look beautiful," she said, genuinely impressed.

"Thank you. You look gorgeous yourself," I replied and I wasn't just saying it. She really did.

We headed for the door and out to the car. We had two separate cars, but we decided to take mine.

"Where is it again?" I asked, sliding into the passenger seat.

"Wayne Enterprises."

"Where's that?"

Itzel shot me a look. "Please tell me you're joking."

I grinned. "Relax, I'm messing with you. It's the big building with a W on it."

Itzel smiled as she turned the key, the engine roaring to life. She's the only one who truly understands what this means to me.

And with that, we were off into the heart of Gotham City.
