Hidden within

Part 11

Pierce POV

I had been away on a business trip for alpha and was getting back tonight. I was glad I missed my mate. Even though I've only seen her once or twice I loved her. I was sure I'd never find the one I'm 28. Years I've waited in jealousy of other couples but now I've found her I'd make her fall for me. Even though she's human I'll make sure everyone respects her.

I've been anxious without her. Even though we had not officially met. I was going to meet her and make her fall in love with me.

I was running in the woods when I spelt her scent. I hurriedly ran towards it. I shifted back to my human form. I pulled on my clothes and searched around I was at a park. I sniff around and see my mate on a park bench. I go and sit down next to her. She was writing in a notebook and looked stressed. I admired her. I was about to start a conversation but she packed her things up. She then rounded a large group of children up and left. I was in aww and went into the forest. I changed into my wolf and followed her. I watched her for a while before I was called back home.

It's been a while since I'd seen my mate and I was going crazy. I knew she was human but I hadn't even talked to her yet. I was working when my beta and my other friends walked into my office. They ordered me to stop moping and come eat dinner with them. I groaned knowing I had no choice. I grabbed my jacket and wallet before they dragged me into a car. They drive and parked at a diner. I groaned and followed as we were seated. I looked at the menu but was interrupted by the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. I looked up and laid my eyes on the prettiest girl I'd ever seen. My wolf was howling inside me screaming mate.

My gaze was broken when someone elbowed me. I blushed and ordered. She took our order before I could get her name. My friends looked at me weird before piecing it together. They congratulated me but stopped when she came back over with our drinks. She continued to work and I admired her. When she came back over to our table she handed out our food before grabbing a little girl and whispering in her ear. The little girl hands out some food. It was cute but my wolf automatically assumes that's her daughter. He growls hurt in my head. We eat before paying and I leave a large tip for my mate.

We leave and head back to the pack house. I get in my car and go back to the diner intent on asking her out. I have to do this it's the human way and she is human. I look around and spot her. I go and tap on her shoulder. She turns and gives me a breathtaking smile.

I was about to speak when a voice from the back called her name. She politely excused herself and I waited. She came out and continued to work. I go annoy her again. I then ask her out but someone from a table calls her. I wait in anticipation for her return.

She explains her situation so I wait for her shift to end. When it does I see she's tired but leads me to where I presume her house is. I'm surprised at it until I read the sign saying "orphanage". I follow her until we get into an office like room.

She looks over some stuff while I just awkwardly sit there. She's about to tell me when there is a knock on the door. She looks up startled and frightened. She whispers to me hide in the closet. I would normally protest but her eyes plead with mine. I shuffle into the closet.

I watch her interaction with the little girl. I couldn't help think of her round with my pup. I shake my head out of those thoughts. The door opens and she exits with the little girl in her arms. I sigh and wait for her return. She returns and leads me out of her house. I leave and shift into my wolf I then howl in excitement and head home.
