The rain slowed down, when Jacob pulled into a parking spot that wasn't being occupied. Troye quickly jumped out of Jacob's car, not even caring to thank him for the ride. Jacob slammed the door to his side, rolling his eyes as he watched Troye. He stood with Zoe underneath her umbrella his headphones now around his neck. Jacob sensed he liked music because he never seemed to take them off.
"Was that Troye who just got out of your car?" Tyler questions walking up to Jacob, a smirk was visible on his lips from under the umbrella he was holding. "It was!" He squeals. Jacob rolls his eyes. Pushing his way through Tyler, he walked to the front of the school. Tyler trailed behind him, trying to avoid the puddles on the ground. "Wait up Jacob!" Tyler calls out, running up to him when he was close enough.
"Yes I gave him a ride, but only because it was pouring rain and I felt sorry for him." Jacob elaborated, pulling a cigarette pack out of the pocket of his black hoodie. He placed one in his mouth, twirling it around with his tongue. Tyler looked at him with confusion, he looked between him and the unlit cigarette not understanding why he didn't light it.
"You know you're suppose to light them?" Tyler laughs softly looking at Jacob. "It doesn't make you look like a bad ass if they aren't lit." He jokes.
"I don't light them, that's the thing." He softly says moving the cigarette to the side of his mouth, it bounced as he spoke. Tyler looked at him in bewilderment, not understanding one word he said. "I don't light them because I know they are bad for me, but I hold the killing thing between my teeth and it acts as the power." He says, Tyler still was looking at him confused, but he nodded in understanding.
Jacob took the cigarette out of his mouth putting it back into the pack. This time instead of putting the cigarette pack in his pocket he opens his bag and hides them in there.
Jacob followed Tyler over to Troye and Zoe, hoping no one mentioned the fact Jacob had given him a ride this morning.
The tension between Jacob and Troye started to rise. It was as if when they arrived at school they hated each other more than they normally did when they weren't here.
"Where were you this morning Troye? I had to sit all by myself on the bus." She pouts. Tyler smirked at Jacob, which made him roll his eyes in annoyance. Tyler just kept smirking smugly at him.
"I got a ride." He vaguely says, no emotion what so ever present in his tone. Zoe nodded, not wanting to press on the topic seeing as Troye was in a mood like always.
Tyler of course didn't get the hint and pressed on. "From who?" He says, trying his best to hide the grin on his face.
"No one important," He bitterly says, with an eye roll. Jacob wasn't going to admit this but for some fucking reason Troye's words caused an ache in his chest, and made his vision blur a bit. "He isn't important."
Jacob rushed away from the group, walking far away as possible. He didn't want to be near Troye. Something about Troye was pissing him off an unusual amount.
Jacob ignored the ringing of his phone, he ignored the messages being sent. He couldn't deal with Troye's friends right now.
Jacob decided he didn't want to go to school today. He knew skipping school on his third day was a bad idea but he didn't care. He couldn't deal with school right now.
Jacob walked back to the parking lot once he knew everyone was in class. He threw his bag into the front seat sighing softly. He couldn't go home because his mom would be their and she'd yell at him for skipping school. The only thing he could thing of to do was to drive around town till he found something better to do. And that's what he did.
His thoughts were giving him a headache. They wouldn't calm down, which didn't help his anxiety. Jacob turned up the radio, trying his best to tune out the world around him. One started to play and Jacob couldn't really focus at all. The lyrics made him remember things from his past, that he didn't want to. Jacob turned down the radio, finding no need to listen to it anymore.
His thoughts went to Troye. Why did they hate each other? Why was Jacob lost for breath thinking about the way his fingers ran through his hair? Jacob had so many questions, but he had zero answers to them and that pissed him off. He wanted answers even if they hurt him.
