Chapter 5........ Conflicts
"Thanks for bringing him here." Scott said
He stepped in front of me. His step closer to me made me feel uneasy. His green eyes were unreadable. I had no clue if he was upset or happy with me
"No problem, I ran into him after I covered Kat's shift. I only had a 2 hour shift so I went out but I didn't get anything. I asked him if he wanted to come here to catch up with you." I said
I was lying and I hoped it would work. If not I'm scared what would happen. He could kill me if he wanted. He could do anything to me. I could feel my stomach getting tight
"Okay. Cool." He said
I nodded my head at his response. He didn't yell at me, or lay a hand on me, nothing. I was really surprised. I smiled. This was a first. I started to walk away from him thinking our conversation was over, until he asked me one question
"Did you say anything?" He asked calmly
I stopped in my tracks. Oh no. I turned to face Scott
"No, he doesn't know anything." I said looking down
Okay again I'm lying. With someone like this wouldn't you protect yourself? Even if it meant a little lie? Okay lying isn't good but what choice do I have? I could lie or get beaten, which one would you chose?
"He better not." He said
He started walking closer to me. I took a quick look at the clock that was hanging on the wall in front of me, it was close to 6. Maybe he was hungry. So I decided to change the subject for my own sake
"Do you want dinner?" I asked
"Sure." He said
He stopped in his tracks. Thank God. Since he wanted dinner and I wanted to make him happy so he wouldn't hurt me, I walked back towards the kitchen. When I went to walk past him he grabbed my hips and pulled me into him. His grip was tight and strong. He bent down until his mouth was right at my ear, he pushed my hair away from my ear with his breath
"He wouldn't believe you anyways Mia. No one can help you. You're mine forever." He whispered in my ear
My heart raced in my chest and my body tingled, not because of his touch but because of his words. His forever? No I can't be. I shouldn't live this way, I don't deserve it. Do I? But I did what I know best. I agreed with him
"Yes." I said
He let go of me and laughed as he went to sit down on his chair and that's when the drinking started. I'm surprised that he didn't start earlier, when Dave was here. Again I made my way to the kitchen and I made pasta for Scott and I. It took a while to make. After a while Scott came into the kitchen. I was stirring the pasta sauce, it was almost ready. He came up behind me and he grabbed my hips and pulled me into his body. He didn't pull me far, I was still able to stir
"Let go, the food is almost ready." I said above a whisper
Surprisingly he listened and he went back to sit down. I reached up to grab a strainer out of the cupboard and I strained the pasta. After I did that I set up 2 plates, placed the pasta and the sauce on the plates. I grabbed forks and headed out to give him the plate
"Here." I said
I handed him the plate. He took the plate without a word and I sat on the couch and ate my food. Soon afterwards I got up, put my plate in the sink and I headed to my room to change and get ready to call it a night. I didn't want him to hurt me tonight so if I get away now and go to bed there is less of a chance he would hurt me. I walked back out to make sure he was still there and he was
