I woke to the sound of my alarm blaring and slammed my arm to turn it off. Nothing happened. I adjust my eyes to the darkness only to realize that I'm not on my bed, I'm on the ground. Memories of waking up on a cold wet floor cloud my mind but I quickly try to push them away and get up and back into my bed. It's normal for me to wake up on the floor so it didn't bother me much, I turned off the alarm clock and check the time, 4:30am.

I get up and head to the bathroom I share with Chad, Liam, and Peter. After I turned on the shower, I cleaned up the counters a bit, boys are disgusting and sharing and bathroom with them is the worst part about living with them.

I showered, waking me up and went to get dressed. This was going to be my year, I had everything planned out, I had great friends and this year, I turn 16. Which finally means that I can date boys. Every time I liked a boy, my brothers would scare them off, but last year I made a deal with Ben that if I got straight A's freshman year, I could go on dates with boys, after I turn 16 of course. Finally, after hours of studying and loads of extra credit, it paid off! This year was gonna be golden.

After I did my makeup, I grabbed a embroidered light brown dress that was kinda tight and maybe a little bit short but it's only because I'm tall so that's how I usually get away with wearing things with the boys. I looked at the final result in the mirror, and to be honest I looked pretty hot. By now, the clock read 7:00 and I rushed downstairs to get breakfast. I turned the corner into the kitchen and all eyes fell on me.

"Um, what the hell are you wearing?" Chad asked with a frown on his face.

"A dress," I responded condescendingly.

"Yeah I realized that bit why is it so,"

"So what?"

"He's asking why it makes you look like such a slut," Peter walks into the kitchen from behind me and bumps his shoulder into mine.

"Oh, you mean like the slutty girls you go out with," I retort back at him.

"Watch it," he stands in my face looking down on me, I was tall for a girl but he was definitely taller.

"Douchebag."

"Slut."

"Hey you two, dial it back a notch," Ben walks in from behind us putting a hand on both our shoulders, "and Laurel go change,"

"Are you kidding me! You know that I'm taller that other girls, that's not fair!" I sound like a little kid.

"That doesn't matter, I don't want boys looking at you all day and you are not going to school dressed like that," his voice was calm.

"Other girls dress like this!"

"And you are not other girls now I believe I have made myself clear now go change!" He raised his voice as he pointed to the stairs. I rolled my eyes and groaned as I went back upstairs to change.

I grabbed the outfit I was planning on wearing tomorrow, a burgundy blouse with a denim jacket and ripped black jeans. Finally, I went back downstairs to get breakfast.

"Let's go!" Liam yells from the living room.

"I just started eating! And I would have been able to finish if someone didn't make me change!" I glare and Ben.

"Have a great first day," he smiles at me and I roll my eyes, grabbing a piece of toast. I grab my backpack and purse by the door and head out to Peters car.

"Well look who finally changed," Peter says while looking at me through his mirror, I smile sarcastically.

Once we got to school, I jumped out of the car and began walking towards the doors.

"Hey! Get back here!" I can hear Peter shouting at me from the car. At school, he was like Ben, telling me what to do and what not to do, I hated it but he loved it.

"What!" I yell as I walk back to the car slower than I walked out of it.

"Okay so I know about the whole deal you made with Ben about boys," my slime widens, "but you have to remember, you're not quite 16 yet,"

"1 month! I turn 16 in 1 month! Who whorls it harm if I dated a boy less than a month before I turn 16!?"

"Well you know one thing leads to another and next thing you kno-"

"Listen, I'm not like you and I'm not looking to have sex with guys anytime soon,"

"Good then you won't mind waiting a month to date," he smiles and waves.

"I hate you."

"Love ya sis." I flip him off and turn around walking to my locker, bumping some girls who give me weird looks on the way. Since Peter and Chad are on the football team they get lots of recognition, mostly from girls.

Once I got to my locker and put away my backpack, there was a beep from my phone.

Marisa - Where are you guys!?

Bennett - On my way

Me - At my locker

Marisa - Okay well me court and cal are in the library

Me - coming

I began walking towards the library, casually waving to people I'd known last year with the occasional conversations about how we should've hung out over the summer. Eventually, I make it to the library and run up the stairs behind the third row of bookshelves. I'm greeted with an "ahh" and run to hug my friends.

"It's literally been like 10 years!" Marisa says with her noodle like arms around my neck.

"It's been 2 days Mar," I laugh a bit and go to hug Courtney.

"Well 2 days and you still look ugly," I hear Callan snicker with his arms folded across his chest, leaning on a bookshelf.

"You're forgetting that twins look the same idiot," Callan and I looked the exact same except he was a boy and I was a girl.

"Nice to see you too," he says as he wraps his arms around me.

"Are you guys seriously meeting up without me?" Bennett yells from behind us.

"Well we would have waited if you didn't take so long to get here," Courtney snorts at him.

*RING* *RING*

"Well we better mosey on down to first period," Callan says with his arm across my shoulder.

"I have Mr. Badal Honors English," I say, hoping someone else does too.

"So do me and Cal," Mar replies.

"And me," Bennett said trying to get in in the conversation.

"Sweet, looks like this year's already starting off pretty great," I say walking to first period with my friends by my side.
