They next Day at school was Friday.
The day of the dance.
Once Trevor and I saw each other my mind flooded with questions.
Are we a thing now? Are gonna go public if we are? Or are we just a couple at the dance? Maybe something more-
"Hey, Clyde," he greeted.
I blushed once more. "Hi."
He took my hand and we started walking down the hallway.
I didn't have to ask him anything. I knew we were definitely a thing.

At the end of the day Trevor and I parted. We agreed he would pick me up at 7, leaving me time to do my hair, makeup and find the perfect dress.
I then realized that I was definitely not the type to know what I was doing with all that crap.
I called Zoe. "Hey Zoe, I need u ASAP I can't do my own hair and makeup..."
"Fine," she sighed. "I'll be right over."
After eating a snack, she came and immediately got to work. She pulled my hair back into an effortless-looking updo, strands of Auburn hair framing my face perfectly. A halo of the bun I was wearing was seen past my head when I looked in the mirror.
Then she took the eye liner and gave me a thin line above and below my eyelids. For the finishing touch to my eyes she used thick mascara and applied it to my eyelashes.
Finally she took Cherry Cream Pie lipstick and slid it across my lips. I looked like a model of the 1900's with my cat eye makeup and red lips.
Finally, I went to my closet. I didn't have that much to wear.
"um... Zoe, I have a wardrobe crisis."
She peered over my shoulder.
"Oh yes, you definitely do," she said. "Don't worry, I have the perfect thing."
"Aren't you going to the dance?" I asked. "don't tell me you dont have a date."
"no, I'm not. Nobody asked me," she mumbled, sliding out her car keys from her pocket.
I felt sad. "oh."
She shrugged it off. "anyway, I'll be right back with that dress."
In a few minutes she came back, red fabric draped over her arm. "come here," she ordered. "oh my gosh, you're gonna look amazing."
I took the dress and slipped it on in the bathroom. I had no sleeves, just layers of overlapping fabric pulled tight to accentuate my curves that I never knew I had. The dress was like the skirt of a mermaid, hugging my legs until just above my knees. I spun around in the mirror. "OMG! This dress is amazing!!!" I shrieked.
Finally to top everything off she gave me a pair of red heels. "You look beautiful," she said.
Once I slipped my shoes on the doorbell rang. Immediately I turned embarrassed of what Trevor might think of me. I usually wore my giant glasses and my hair tied into a simple, tight ponytail.
But today, my hair looked like an angel. Today i was not Clyde. Today I was someone pretty.
I opened the door to reveal that adorable boy I saw at the Con, dressed up in a shirt and tie.
It was like I could feel my eyes turn into hearts. "You are so handsome," I said, not realizing I said it out loud.
He blushed.
"You look amazing. I've never seen you look so beautiful." he smiled.
My mom dashed towards us with her ancient camera.
"Can I get a picture of you two?!" she asked a little too excitedly.
"Sure," Trevor replied for us. His arm wrapped around me and I did the same. We both smiled.
"Okay, mom, we are OK now," I told her after she had taken around 6 pictures.
I took Trevor's hand and we walked out and drive to the dance. Zoe left my driveway the same time as us.
"So... How long gave you liked me?" I asked him.
He blushed. "Well... Since the day I've met you, I thought you were so cute."
Me? Cute? No way.
"Me? Cute? No way!" I told him. "Although you were definitely cute." I smiled at the floor.
Once we got there everyone was staring. We sashayed inside. I've never felt so arrogant... But it felt great. My right hand was on my hip and my left clutched Trevor's right.
We danced until we could've dropped. Sweat started to bead on my forehead. "I'm gonna get a drink," I told him.
"I'll come too."
We headed towards the vending machines out in the hallway. The hall was pretty empty. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a slushee machine.
"want a slushee? My treat," he offered. I nodded my head.
"Two medium slushees please," he told the cashier.
"I'm sorry, but we only have one straw left," he told us. I blushed.
"Then we will share a cup," Trevor told him as he smiled down at me.
So we shared a slushee through the same straw outside the gym. Because almost nobody was there, it was a really romantic moment.
Until I heard muffled sounds coming from a little corner of the hallway. It didn't sound right.
"Trevor, I hear something weird over there..." I pointed to the noise.
"want to check it out?" he asked. I nodded.
We quietly walked around the corner. There were a girl and a boy, talking secretively. We both turned around to eavesdrop.
"Hey babe, have another," the boy said.
"I don't know... I feel a little dizzy..."
"Hon, I know you love whiskey. Just have more," he insisted. Trevor and I shared a suspicious glance.
I heard a ploop noise. I peered around for a split second to see the boy close the cap to a bottle of pills.
"Here, babe."
"Thanks..."
"OK, now take off your dress."
"But... I don't even know you..."
"I said, UNZIP YOUR DRESS!" he yelled at her. I heard her cower in fear.
I gulped. Did we find him...?
