22: Security

Kakashi POV~

I fell asleep- or at least attempted to while holding onto my student tightly. After a few hours of thoughtless bliss similar to sleep, I saw that the sun was out through a crack in the closed blinds of the hospital room.

I layed my student down gently among the bedsheets and left to get the Hokage.

Once we returned, she checked up on Naruto and we began to speak about the future.

"He's not in the coma anymore, just asleep. He can wake up anytime now." Tsunade said with a sigh as she ran her fingers through the weak boy in the bed's hair.

"So... What do we do now?" I asked her with a worried look plastered on my hidden face.

"We have no idea what his mental state is, so we just have to make sure that he's as comfortable as he can be right now and be there for him when he wakes up. As for his physical health, it will most likely take weeks of physical therapy, even with his healing abilities to recover. I'm not sure what the nerve damage is like either."

I nodded and moved to the windowsill to sit down.

"You really should go home and get some rest, Kakashi. Iruka can look after him, you know. He'll be here as soon as visitation hours start."

"I'll stay until he wakes up. I want to be here for him." I said in a firm voice.

3rd Person/Neutral POV~

Tsunade sighed and walked out of the room, knowing that she wouldn't win this battle with Kakashi. Instead she walked into her office where Jiraiya was waiting for her to continue discussing plans on how to keep Naruto safe.

Iruka stalked up the stairs to the top floor, already knowing what room Naruto was in. He had a vase of daisies in his hand because he realized that Naruto's room could use a little color. On the way up he almost fell when he bumped into all 3 rookie teams and their senseis as well as Gui's team.

Oh, hi guys. Here to see Naruto too? He notices the roses in Ino's hand and the crystantimums in Asuma's arms. "I see you got him flowers too, then."

They nodded and he noticed that each genin had a card for Naruto as well. Sasuke tugged on Kurnei's shirt.

"Can we hurry up, please?" He whined.

The group continued up the stairs until they approached his door.

"Everyone be quiet, we don't want to disturb him." Neji whispered.

The group walked into the room and were greeted with an exhausted Kakashi and an all-too-still Naruto.

"Yo." Kakashi said to the group as they set their cards and flowers on the nightstand next to Naruto's bed.

"How's your kid been doing, Kakashi?" Asuma asked.

"He woke up last night, we have to see what mental state he's in when he wakes but again." The copy ninja said trying to hide all emotion.

"Was he alright?" Kurnei asked curiously.

"Not... Exactly." He replied with a pang of some emotion that no one could read in his voice.

The group talked and wished Naruto the best until about noon, when everyone left for lunch except Kakashi, Iruka, and Sasuke.

"Don't you want lunch, Sasuke?" Kakashi questioned.

"M' not hungry." The teen replied flatly, not taking his eyes off of Naruto.

Iruka knew that he was too stubborn to change his mind after knowing the Uchiha from the academy.

After quite some time of concentrated silence, Jiraiya and Tsunade walked in.

"We'd like to discuss the security plans for the gaki"

Kakashi and Iruka nodded.

"Jiraiya, would you go get the other jounin sensei to join us please." Tsunade ordered.

Jiraiya nodded and sun-shinned away.

When he reappeared, he was at the BBQ infront of Kurnei, Asuma, and Gui's teams.

"The Hokage has ordered the jounin to come to the hospital immediately." Jiraiya said in a firm voice.

The jounins set their plates down and gave their students some money to pay for the meal. With that they disappeared in a cloud of smoke, leaving the genin to wonder.

Tsunade was in the hospital room arguing with the stubborn Uchiha, who insisted on staying throughout the "meeting" in the room. The slug sanin eventually gave up and let him stay.

"Now that we're all here, I'd like to discuss the security of Uzumaki Naruto. As you all know, Naruto was targeted by the Akasuki and assaulted by Orochimaru. This is why his safety is of the utmost importance right now. Do we all understand?" Tsunade asked.

Everyone nodded, so she continued.

"I've stationed 3 ANBU squads around the perimeter of the hospital. I've also put all available squads on border patrol to protect the walls from any unwanted visitors. I'd like you three" she pointed to Asuma, Gui, and Kurnei "to be stationed around the room in a defence stance. I'll keep Kakashi and Jiraiya in the room as well as myself to protect him. Iruka, you will attend your job at the academy but may visit in any free time. Do I make myself clear?"

Once again, everyone nodded.

"Okay, disperse!" The Hokage ordered.

Just then, the sickly blond in the bed began to stir.

End.

Guys... I'm sorry that this chapter was super crappy but it just leads up to the next one. But I ACTUALLY UPDATED! Be proud. XD And it's not some short baby update, it's almost 1,000 words!
