"Oh, erhm I'm sorry. I didn't know we had company." I say, I can already tell my cheeks are a nice shade of blood fucking red right now. I probably came off so rude, and in front of her family too? I'm so stupid. Why are they in my house anyways? Is my mum some sort of welcoming committee now? And why didn't my mum warn me?
"It's okay Harry, why don't you just come down and chat for a bit? They'll be able to see how nice of a boy you are once they talk to you for a bit!" Ugh mum stop, you're so weird around guests. All friendly and what not. If I had talked back to her any other day she'd be cussing me out in 7 different languages.
I walk down stairs carefully watching my steps, afraid of my fate I thought I was going to recieve earlier if I ran into her outside and I really don't need anymore embarrassment right now.
I walk up to her father and stick my hand out, "Hi my name's Harry, nice to meet you."
"Hi Harry. Such a gentleman, shaking my hand. Your mother has obviously taught you well." He says looking over at my mum with a genuine smile. Gross, I hope he's not flirting with her. Where is Ally's mum anyways? "My name is Robin Twist. These are my two daughters Ally" He gestures toward the older girl. "And Alicia." gesturing to the rather tiny little girl standing behind Ally's leg that she's desperately holding onto.
"Hello." I smile and shake Ally's hand, and wave at Alicia. "How old are you?"
"3"
"Oh no way, you look so much older. You've got to be at least 14." I smile.
She smiles back hesitantly, but then decides to bury her face into the back of Ally's leg.
"Sorry she's a bit shy." Ally says. Her accent is beautiful, dear god.
"It's okay, I always seem to make girls nervous." You blubbering idiot. Could you sound like more of a asshole? "Erhm, so how old are you?"
"She's 16. She's in your grade." Robin chimes in. "I actually came over today because I saw you walking to school today and since I have to get Alicia to school and be to work by 8 everyday, I thought you guys could walk together?" He asks. Yes. Fuck yes. More time to spend with her.
"Dad, I can walk by myself." Ally barks. Ouch.
"Sorry sweetie." Ally face shows the repulse at his choice of words. " But you can't walk alone, and I can't get you and your sister to school on time. This is the only way." Ally and her father exchange glances before I see him give her a serious look. "Fine." Ally's face stays neutral as she nods her head. Am I a bad person for being happy he forced her? Oh well.
"Oh! Great idea." Oh god. "Ally before you go, why don't you and Harry hang out tonight? He can tell you about the school and-"
"Mum, I'm going out tonight." I say as Ally chimes in as well. "Yeah and I have to unpack... wait go out? Like a party?"
"Uh, yeah?"
"Oh, well that actually sounds like fun."
"Well if you'd like, you could come along."
"Well is that an invite? Or just you trying to be polite, because I don't want to go if you don't-"
"I want you to." I smile at her.
She smiles back and my stomach flutters.
"Well sounds good! I guess we better take off then so we can eat dinner and she can have enough time to get ready because you know girls and how long it-"
"Dad!" Ally barks.
"Sorry, we'll be off now. Nice meeting you!" Robin continues and they all say goodbye and leave.
