Marina's POV
I woke up from my dream of saving merville. I reached over and pushed the alarm button. It is Friday and tonight I am going to swim to Merville. I got up and ran downstairs. I walked into the living room where my mom was feeding my 3 year old sister Roxy. Oh I really hate Roxy. Dont ask me why, but I am just not as close to my dad as I used to be ever since she arrived. Or maybe since I found out I was a mermaid. Step mom was watching the show Mermaid Documentary: The Search. These shows are so fake. For one thing the mermaids they show here have webbed fingers, no hair, and their tails are all weird. That is not at all what Mermaids look like. I groaned and got up. I grabbed breakfast and got ready for school. I looked into the mirror. I feel not at all like me. I am hiding from who I really am. I am still not sure what I am but I feel like I need to be comfortable with myself. I just dont know anymore. Everything in my world is different.
~At school~~~
I walk side by side with my sister Luna. We are both hiding a big secret from everybody. We are mermaids, but not only we have special abilities and most importantly we are princesses of Merville. Luna has curly hair and is less, well how should I say it, less girly girl. We are never, ever going to show our powers to the world, ever! They will do experiments on us and well a lot of bad stuff will happen.
Luna's POV
We were walking a lot. The bell rang and me and Marina both had science. We were running because we were on the other side of campus. We walked inside right when the bell rang. We took our seats next to each other side by side. On our tables were water. Ms.Mel my favorite teacher since she was so cool began to tell us about our water experiment. I looked at the water. An uneasy feeling in the pit of my stumach. We began the experiment. We looked at the microscope to see all the cells and bacteria in the water. Behind us a few boys were giggling. I turned around to see 2 trouble making boys holding back their laughter and staring at us. I looked in their hands to see a small cup of water. I leaned to Marina "heads up" I whispered.
Marinas POV
I tensed up I had a feeling that the boys behind us are gonna throw water at us. I wanted to burn their faces so bad but not only will that be mean, they will know our secret. We continued to pretend not to know what was going on when Luna knocked over the cup of after on me and the boys threw the water at me. Why me?!?! I panicked and ran out the room. I could see the teachers puzzled face. I closed the door of the classroom and fell backwards letting my transformation take place. Red light glowed at my feet as I had a tail appear and a red bra. Last was my tiara. Shimmering on my head. I sighed and layed down. If someone walks in the hall I'm dead, and if the door opens I'm dead. This is my everyday life.
~~ after school~~~
Luna's POV
It was after school and me and Marina are going straight into the ocean. We arrived at the beach, because it is Friday a lot of people are here. We hid our bags in the bushes of the beach. No one goes in here. We have been hiding in here, hiding our stuff in here for 3 years. I jumped a little when I heard crackling in the bushes. Amongst the trees we saw a black figure moving through the trees. Me and Marina covered our mouths and ducked. The figure kept walking. I grabbed marinas hand and ran away. We went into the ocean and swam until we were sure no one can see us. Our transformation came and we rocketed to Merville.
Me: Marina there was something weird about that person
Marina: I know it feels like they are a creature other than human nor animal.
We arrived in Merville where we were greeted by mom, Aria the mer-watcher, and guards. What's happening?
