Part one
"Nigga grab the bag, and if anyone of you pussies move ima blow yo fucking cap back" Trey yells while pointing the barrel of the stainless steel two tone .40 caliber hand gun at the three men stripped naked in the room.
As he holds the men at gun point his best friend and right hand man E.j grabs the black duffel bag filled with money off the floor and begins stuffing three tightly wrapped bricks of cocaine off the table.
"Come on let's go!" Screams Raymond Trey's younger brother, as he throws a naked woman next to the men kneeling with their hands laced together behind their heads on the floor. He is holding a chrome .38 special in one hand and the woman's oversized Michael Kors purse in the other.
"Please don't kill us!" Says the weeping woman. "I got four kids please!" She pleads.
"Bitch shut up." E.j says while kicking her in the side of her head knocking her unconscious.
"Let's go now!" Raymond repeats. The three boys had grown up in East Lubbock TX together and had been in separable since they met 5 years previously in middle school.
Tonight's robbery was just one of many they had committed since 11th grade. But this one was different. They had never hit a lick of this capacity. Usually they would do break ins when no one was home or stick ups just involving one person. Here they were with four people under their control.
After tonight they would officially be "on", and hopefully never have to do this again. "None of u bitches better move!" Trey says while walking backwards towards the back door they kicked down when entering.
He waits for Raymond and E.j to run past him before he turns and starts running himself. Raymond hops the back gate quickly with E.j close on his heels he throws the duffel bag over the fence then attempts to go over himself.
Trey jumps the gate and as he crosses the alley he looks back, and notices E.j's pants leg ripped and caught in the top of the chain linked fence leaving him dangling on the gate. He rushes over and begins pulling E.j's leg trying desperately to free him. After a few failed attempts E.j's sweat pants rip even more and he falls to the ground. E.j grabs the duffel bag and throws it over his shoulder.
"Bro come on" Trey whispers as they begin to make their way across the alley just as their feet hit the high grass of the field linking Cornell to Colgate gun shots are fired which makes them move faster. Clearing the field running full speed up Colgate to a side street near Baylor Trey jumps in back of the black Chevy Cruze Raymond's girlfriend Toya had been sitting waiting for them in.
"Where's E.j?" Raymond ask.
"Behind me" Trey replies out of breath while looking back up the street waiting for E.j to jump in so that they can leave.
"Bro no he's not" Raymond says in a panicked voice.
"He was just here" Trey replies squinting his eyes to see if he can make out his best friend running down the street. But there was nothing. No one was there.
"Ride back that way babe" Raymond tells Toya.
"Hell no nigga I ain't trynna get shot!" Toya was starting to panic now.
"Bitch ride down Colgate they don't know this car." Trey tells Toya.
Toya starts her car pulls in a drive way to turn around and head up Colgate. When they get to the corner halfway down the street they can see a group of people. As they get closer they can see several people standing outside a person laying on the ground, and someone walking across the field back towards Cornell holding the duffel bag with their futures inside.
"That's him. Fuck man that's him! Stop the car." Screams Trey. Toya slows down as if she is going to stop.
"Keep going." Raymond tells her and she keeps going.
"What the fuck man he hurt turn around!" Trey is crying and yelling at both his brother and Toya.
"Trey them niggas will fucking kill us you gotta calm down bro he gone be alright." Raymond is trying to keep a cool head but tears are forming in his eyes as he tries to calm his older brother.
"I don't give a fuck that's my brother man." Trey is hitting the cars ceiling and still crying.
"TREY.." Raymond starts but Trey cuts him off.
"Man Ray tell this bitch to stop, let me the fuck out I ain't trynna hear all that." Trey is screaming and hitting the back of his brothers seat. Toya looks at Raymond who signals her to keep going.
Trey unlocks the door and opens it so Toya slows down and brings the car to a stop. Trey gets out of the car and starts walking up MLK back towards Colgate.
Raymond gets out of the car and tries to stop his brother.
"Trey. Trey man you cant go back." he says just above a whisper. Grabbing his brothers shirt trying to force him to turn around. Trey continues walking with tears streaming down his face. "Trey, bro we can't do this bro stop, Fuck!" Raymond pushes Trey which causes him to swing back at his brother who was expecting it, and blocked his punch.
"Bitch that's our nigga how we gone leave him?" Trey yells. Raymond begins looking around nervously.
"Trey we can't go back the laws bout to be there any minute, them niggas gone fucking see us bro think." Raymond pleads with his big brother. As soon as the words come out of his mouth police sirens can be heard coming up MLK from a distance. "Bro he gone be alright, we gotta get home man come on."
Trey gets back in the car with his brother and Toya. They wait for an ambulance, fire truck, and several police cars to pass and then drive off.
"Bae you can not tell nobody shit that happened tonight." Raymond tells Toya who is also crying.
"I'm not" is all she could get out between sobs.
"My nigga is a thug he got this." Raymond says, trying to convince Trey and Toya, but really even himself as well.
After sneaking back into their home Trey and Raymond didn't bring up the incident at all in fear that someone in the house would hear.
As they lay in their twin beds that night both of them thought over the events that happened.
They had been planning the robbery for weeks, they thought their plan was flawless. How could this have happened.
Trey felt sick to his stomach he had already thrown up twice, and was genuinely trying his best to stay calm. Raymond was right as usual he couldn't do anything tonight. He had to act natural show up for school tomorrow like nothing happened. He knew whether the news was good or bad he had to act surprised. After praying again Trey just lie their still and quiet hoping his phone would ring, and E.j would be alright. Wishing this was a dream and just waiting for the sun to come up.
Raymond lie in bed scrolling through his timelines on Twitter and Facebook seeing if anyone had made a status about the robbery or shooting. So far there had been nothing, which was unusual for Lubbock normally there would've been all kinds of people talking but tonight was dry.
After being satisfied that no one knew anything thing yet Raymond tried going to sleep. He thought about the fact that his friend could be dead. That brought the tears back to his eyes. He also thought about what would happen if he did make it. Would Fred and Broc know who robbed them? Would E.j tell the police anything. Raymond's head was spinning with what if's.
