Names.
Names.
Okay, say you want to name your character Lily. Lily. Lily.
Okay. Well, you are writing the story now.
And then you name another person Lily.
Uh what?
Why?
Why would someone have two characters in their story that have the same name? THAT like if a mother named both her sons Bob.
No.
Nooo.

But here's the thing.
If it's apart of a plot, sure! An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, that's one example. He used a name nineteen times because it was apart of the plot.

Fan fiction.
Same thing as the first part of this chapter. No doubles unless you are doing a doppelgänger thing. Or if it's the plot. It just gets really confusing, and that can lose reads.
