a three lettered word

changed her view of the world.

at only the age of thirteen,

no longer dreaming of becoming a queen.

she only had one wish: to be thin.

being taught to hate herself and her skin.

F-A-T: the word that filled her with hate;

making her think she took up too much space.

voices in her head telling her to starve.

she had lost herself and forgot how to self love.

the reflection of her body disgusted her

as she stared back at the girl in the mirror.

she had become her worst enemy.

started cutting and suffering from anxiety.

drunk but never did she eat.

after all, she just wanted to lose weight.

she wanted to be perfect for them:

look beautiful for him.

sadly it became too late for her to stop.

the voices took over; she no longer fought.

beauty is only perception.

it has no real definition.

why can't the world understand that

people lose their selves and start to act?

they say that big is beautiful,

but why is it that only skinny people model?

skinny is beautiful.

fat is regretful.

F-A-T

the word that caused her to leave.

one word caused her fall.

one word changed it all.
