"That wasn't so bad..." He said.

"See? There's no way they could hate you" I smiled.

He looked around. "You wanna feed the pigeons?"

Pigeons?

I looked at him. "Sure."

We walked to an area where there wasn't any animal exhibits, it looked like a park. A resting area maybe. It was empty but there were a lot of pigeons gathered around by a bench. He grabbed my hand and we walked toward them.

"W-wait..." I stopped walking.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"I umm...I'm afraid of pigeons..." I said.

He laughed light heartedly.

"I'm serious...they freak me out." I said.

"They aren't going to hurt you Karen. Come on." He gave me a reassuring smile and began walking again.

"Ah...w-w-wait...V...I can't do it." I stopped again.

"What are you afraid of?" He asked.

"They're weird. They way they walk and coo...what if they peck me?" I asked.

He chuckled. "They're not going to peck you Karen. I promise."

"But..."

"I'll protect you. Come on." He smiled and walked again.

We got closer and the pigeons seemed to notice us, they began dispersing and flying.

"Ahh!" I held on to V without thinking and closed my eyes.

I felt his arm around me.

"Karen...open your eyes."

"No way! They're probably surrounding us!" I said with my eyes shut.

He chuckled. "Trust me. Open your eyes."

I opened one eye and looked around then opened the other.

I realized how hard I held on to him.

"Oh....sorry. I just freaked out for a second." I pulled away from him.

He simply smiled.

"Where did they go?" I asked.

"They're more afraid of you than you are of them." He said as he sat on the bench.

I took a seat beside him.

As soon as we did that they came back, I felt the chills go down my spine.

"I wonder if pigeons judge people" V said.

"If they do they probably think I'm some kind of special brand of human" I said.

"Haha. Nah I doubt they're saying that" he said.

"Oh? You speak pigeon now?" I smiled.

"Coo coo coo." He bobbed his head.

"Hahaha. So what are they saying?" I asked.

"They're saying they want you to feed them." He smiled and handed me a shrimp cracker.

I held the cracker in my shaking hand.

"A-Are you sure?" I looked at him.

"Coo coo." He nodded. "I'm sure"

I tossed it and cringed.

They began gathering around the cracker and eating it.

Hmm, I guess it seemed silly now to think they were out to get me.
