I started re-reading the first book a couple of days ago in preparation for the movie, and I came across a part I'd forgotten about.
"Look," I said, "I'm not in the army, and I'm not trying to pull anything on you, I swear! I just want to find my dad, get my stuff, and-"
"American, my arse!" bellowed a fat man. He peeled his considerable girth off a stool to stand between me and the door, toward which I'd slowly been backing. "His accent sounds rubbish to me. I'll wager he's a Jerry spy!"
Reading this now, it made me think of Asa's awful American accent, and how funny it would be if they had put that in the movie. (Which, I doubt they have, since the joke would no longer be ironic, just plain stupid.)
I don't know. I just thought it was funnier, but in a different way, now that I have some knowledge about the movie.
(Please excuse my temporary ignorance about the movie 😂😂😂)
