Aahhh.

"Sure, Kayden," I said. He let out a sharp breath of relief.

"What happened?" Julian- Jason asked.

"FBI I think. He's inquiring about the flight schedules," he muttered.

Fuck.

I needed to tell Evans to keep his distance. Did he think Kai was a kid who wouldn't notice if he poked around too much?! He definitely lived up to his 'Special' status; no normal person is that stupid and I've witnessed the largest congregation of idiots in highschool.

Stupid people are dangerous.

"It's an airport," I said. "There's always heavy security. And Chicago is a pretty important city."

Kai shrugged. "Maybe, but my instincts tell me something is off. Call it a gut feeling if you will." Personally, I think the scariest part was when he stared into my eyes after he said that.

The waitress placed the Frappuccino in front of me and I casually sipped it. Mmm...yuck. Maybe I should have stuck with my usual Mocha.

"So what now?" I asked. "What does the entire Circle thing have to do with the Dian Mu project?"

"Arms," Kai said curtly.

"That was...concise," I commented. "Wait, I thought Dragomirov was in charge of arms."

"He is. Nakamura is helping him out with this one. It's a pretty important deal," he said.

I raised an eyebrow.

"I'm going to find Elizaveta," Julian muttered and left the table. He was really uncomfortable around Kai.

Kai nodded, dismissing him.

The waitress who kept the Frappuccino (which after tasting, I had renamed FrappucciNoNoNo) in front of me stared at Kai. She was really pretty, with brown hair and bright green eyes. She smiled coyly at the assassin who smiled back. I cleared my throat loudly and she looked at me from the corner of her eye before leaving. He's my hot assassin, go find your own.

Or don't.

"You didn't have to do that," he said.

"Something was stuck in my throat," I answered politely, taking another sip of the Frappuccinonono. Blech.

I looked over to the waitress, she was really pretty.

I felt self-conscious for some reason. I never cared about my looks much. I missed the entire dressing and make-up stage when the accident happened. That's not to say I was ugly...maybe with a bit of make-up and some regard for my hair and skin, I'd be about as pretty as her or even Arianna. Right?

"Excuse me?" Kai asked.

"Huh?" I blinked at him.

"You said 'Right?'" he replied.

"What did you want to tell me?" I asked instead.

"About Dian Mu," he said.

"Okay, I'm listening." I sighed.

"Dian Mu, the dam, is a hydroelectric power project as you well know, it's on the river called Dian Mu near a village called Dian Mu," he said.

"Ah. Okay," I nodded. The only thing I thought was: Dian Muception. "So what about it?"

"It's a front for illegal activity. Arms dealing actually," he said.

"Okay..."

"You know that China shares a border with India, and its not exactly pleasant-"
